Your other options are Sealed Power or other brands through Autozone, Napa, etc. All have been proven fine, but yeah, your best bet is OEM.
AZ routinely has 20% off coupons if you're signed up for their emails, so Sealed Power rings come to $96/set.
I think Mazda OEM is still a better deal if you have a Mazdaspeed(comp?) account.

If I were putting rings on stock pistons, I'd use stock rings because AFAIK there's nothing wrong with stock rings and it's just easier.
