Wel lads I'm running a hydra on my GT starlet car was not started in 2 years I'm only getting spark on cylinder 1 no spark on 234..I'm only getting fuel on cylinder 1 and 4..think 2 and 3 are blocked would that put ECU into limp mode and stop it sparking? Thanks in advance
When you say you’re not getting fuel, are you referring to injector pulse with a test light, or the #2 and 3 injectors have power and pulse at the connector and are just not delivering any fuel?
No firsthand experience with the Hydra here, but most OEM ECUs will shut off a cylinder’s injector, not spark, if a severe misfire is detected. I don’t believe the injector concern would cause the ECU to pull spark on the affected cylinders.
Thanks for your reply I'm getting power to all injectors just no fuel to 2-3 would that put the ECU in limp mode and stop it firing?so you know where the software can be got for that ECU so I can plug it into laptop
Understood, so just to clarify, you have power present at all the injector connectors, as well as ground pulse from the ECU? Verified with a test light?
If you have power and ground pulse present, can you feel the injectors clicking?
This also goes for the ignition coils, I'd make sure you're getting power and pulse to both/all of your coils before proceeding further. If your injectors and/or coils are not receiving ground pulse, you either have an open circuit or the driver(s) in the ECU aren't firing. Are you on stock coil packs or something else?
Unfortunately, I do not know where the Hydra tuning software can be downloaded. Maybe someone else on here can chime in on that.
It's firing now there was a broken wire from coil to ECU..but still no petrol in cylinder 2 or 3 I've pulse signal and power from resister as I'm using 1000 cc injectors from a Evo so needed a resistor to bring to low
