lol... I'm a big electronics guy.

If I can send my Link off to one of you guys, would someone be able to re-set it to the 440cc basemap w/ turbo? That would make my life easier. I've got too much other stuff to deal with right now than test my electronics and soldering knowledge.

Mr. Falcon... haha

I'm too lazy to do that lol
just build or buy a serial link so you could tune it if you ever need to

I don't plan to ever tune it.

Ever.

Falcon- you'll need the serialLINK box to hook the PC also. The keypad is the only thing that's a direct connection and you'd go broke paying anybody to tune the car with that. I can't get to my serialLINK right now with work, but can before the end of the day. If somebody else can beat me to it, go for it.

Oh- and to use PLink with the palm, you need to install a serial port on/in the SerialLINK: Serial Link Mod

IIRC you are building a hill climb car correct? Does that version of link have automatic baro correction?

As far as I know the Link does the barro correction only at start up. Doesn't do it on the fly using two map sensors.

our hills... aren't much of a hill.

And all the tracks around here are more or less at sea level.

Ok, I got it apart and they look like 1n4148s to me. I can't read either of them completely the way they're mounted. Can't confirm without removing them from the board and don't have an iron at the moment.

troach- you should make a post in the classifieds stating you'll do this, because I know there have been others in the past looking to buy these.

m2, which serial connector does the box have, male (pins) or female (holes)? I can't quite see it in the pic I'm using.

the box has a female connector
the connector on the other side is male (2x7). It's the type used on PC motherboards. Rip apart an old (pre PentiumIV) pc and you're likely to find one.

troach- follow the link in my sig for the Plink page. That's got a bunch of photos and a page that documents the mod needed to install the port for the Palm cable to run Plink.
