Idling issues with my 1990 MX5
Hi all,
I have an turbo car running on E85 with a Haltech ECU.
The car runs great when driving BUT idling is a problem.
The car will cut out if the idle is set lower than about 1500 rpm. So currently thats how she runs.
That said, E85 delivers less MPG than regular gasoline so I would like to be able to get a solid idle at a normal level (say 800-1000 rpm).
My local tuning guys (FullBlown in Apple Valley) have tried to get the idle down but it just results in the car cutting out. They have tried changing the settings on the ECU and manually to stop the car from stalling.
Does anyone have any ideas what to do here?
If I have to have a car that idles at 1500-1750 so be it but I would love to get it down to normal and save fuel.
Thanks all
Mark (Technically useless LOL )
