Driver for 64 bit windows 7 serial to usb
Hey I've found many alternative drivers (~9 including off diy's site) to the ones that came with my 2 different serial->usb adapters (1 is the diy one the other is a generic prolific chipset, which said 7 compatible on the box) but all give error code 10.
I've yet again ripped apart and fixed the 7 yr old, no battery life, no more wifi or dvd function, acer laptop I tune with but this can't last forever. I'm tempted to buy a cheap new 32bit netbook and put xp on it for tuning.
My newer laptop is a 1 yr old Hp dv6 i5 64bit, running windows 7, what is everyone else running that works?

If you only want it to tune, get Linux on it. Seriously. It will work with whatever brand of USB converter you throw at it, Prolific or FTDI chipset.
And it doesn't do that Windows nonsense, where it will change which COM port it is at, depending on which physical USB port you plug it in.
