Would you dare to get a new connector, get a "brain board" - STM32F4DISCOVERY Discovery kit for STM32F407/417 lines - with STM32F407VG MCU - STMicroelectronics - and solder yourself our board
once we get them manufactured considering we re placing the order tomorrow?

Pretty cool man, props. Although I hate to say it, but why not design and sell this to a community that does not have a bunch of ECU options available? My 99 subaru forester comes to mind (shares the same ECU with the 2.5rs of the same years).. there is literally nothing out there and a ton of people do entire wiring harness/ecu swaps because of it.

Probably and maybe. It's just that my own racecar - which is a festiva with protege engine - shares the ECU and engine with a miata. Once this is up & running, I have a Mini Cooper I am looking at It's a 90% overlap between all of them, so for now I just need it running any car.

This board works! check out the video -
I know many people who want to try are concerned about assembling surface mount. I need people to try this so I've decided to assemble a bunch of boards just for the sake of getting guys on board: https://www.tindie.com/products/russ...iy-ecu-shield/

Not a Miata, but a Mazda BP never the less, engine #3:
Did I not post a link to https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...-unit-ecu-firm here?

SD implementation is not finished yet. All the formulas are there, but still need a couple of final touches.
Until the new board is finished, I think you can already grab an stm32f4discovery and just play with the firmware in self-stimulation mode.

SD implementation is ready and the new board has arrived:
Problem is I do not have enough tuning skills :( I do not hear or feel a car well enough. I am in Jersey City if anyone is available to help.

I am bashing my head against stock ECUs - I have a 1990 and a 1994 I am trying to stimulate on a bench. Both are NA with the same pinout - the older one uses a vane air flow and the newer one uses a hot-wire MAF, but the signal is on the same 2O wire. I have a potentiometer to simulate a VAF/MAF with a 0-5v voltage.
I am feeding different variations of trigger signal into the ECUs:
or
Power on 1B, all grounds are connected. The ECU responds with ignition signals
but it would not send anything to the injectors. Why?!
It clicks the injectors a couple of time after reset and then these lines are silent.

The ECU-on-the-bench issue mystery was unveiled on another forum - stock 1990 and 1994 ECUs require tachometer input signal to supply fuel. That's pretty funny considering the fact that the tach signal is produced by the coils which are controlled by... right, the ECU. So it's an inverted combination of "spark out" signals for both coils.
