so is the data you're collecting being used to augment engine functions or not? because if it's not, then it doesn't need to go to the ECU.

Depending on what you do with a dash, you can have more more inputs/outputs.
I run a F88RL with a MoTeC c125 with the I/O upgrade for extra sensors and outputs.
Price points are very reasonable for such a ecu.

Sequential fueling is a different matter, but unless you're running stupidly high RPM then it shouldn't be a power issue on the ignition. There are other considerations such as coil life etc of course.
