Full-race manifolds are pricy, but definitely amazing work has gone to them. Trust me it is not easy to make a proper twin-scroll. Took me a couple of weekends! Now only if full-race received their shipment of 8374!

I've heard the VVT's are a bit flatter up top - since you're already at parts-risk down low, it would seem there's not a huge advantage. I did a bit of building on my VVT head, but I think until I get new cams, there's little point.

- magic timing map made by Faeflora, with timing ramping up about 6* from 5.5k to redline

My reasoning for using VVT in future is not "VVT is magical" but "if I'm going to spend $$$ on a head, might as well be a VVT head"
You're making me reconsider my plans for a BW 7064
(um BW 179355 (7064 product line)
0.83 A/R T3 undivided (Internal WG)
I was (am?) worried about getting stuck at 350 and hitting a wall, but it does seem that with some bolt ons (manifolds, etc) you'll have no trouble seeing 450. You're certainly not revving things much - I've gone years on a used '00 head and stock internals at 7800 rpm and 18 psi without even an oil change (long story). Now, that's street use, but still, I think you are being way too conservative (at least for street use) on your tune.

Either way, super inspiring, kinda second guessing my turbo choice now - thankfully, I haven't bought it yet.

ok, that was my guess based on timeframe. If T25 housing, yes, it's the 0.64 housing.

If I ever made any changes, I would go with a EFR 7163 and 0.80 A/R T4 Twin Scroll housing - along with a new manifold and downpipe.

I'm torn between this turbo and the 7163 myself so I can't blame you soviet. I'm pretty used to the 2560 I've been running and I can't decide on the turbo. The 7163 TS is pretty damn tempting though!

Just had a funny thought reading the title of this thread. The Soviet era sort of was the space age LULZ.

Oh yeah, and Necropost
