This was at Vlad's local track and I was pretty consistent that night. It was a few days before I broke one of my many 5 speeds, before I was taking it a little easy on the thing. No launch control or flat foot shifts, but definitely beating on it.
First time ever at the strip and it was my best pass out of 4 - Right Lane ... Need to work on my starts as I only got worse the next 3 passes. Missed 3rd on one then did a 2nd to 5th on the next ... Getting a lot of wheel hop on hard launches. Running old RS3's.
99 Stock with MKTurbo LARGE Churbo EBC at about 18, FF640's, DW300, MS3X 5 speed and I am pretty sure I have the 4.1. Running 225/15 RS3's on 9" 6UL.
Wheel hop is killing your 60' (like mine does). I'm putting in new rear tranny delrin bushings. What is the condition or your rear end (if you don't mind me asking).
You may consider riding the clutch more on the launch.
This is me launching at 5-6K but not fully releasing the clutch until about 20 MPH. No wheel hop and this was running 1.7x 60' times on a test and tune night with awful track prep. (cleaning up a spill is considered prep, lol)

LOL ... Not really sure. How do I find out? Seems to work fine but I do have some slop in the drivetrain ... maybe in rear end?

Looks like koengsegg is using something very similar to what Im doing as well. They are apparently using an electric compressor, whereas I'm using an engine driven compressor, well actually a modified air conditioner compressor. https://jalopnik.com/the-new-koenigs...ong-1833061455
Although not a miata I figured for something different I would post some data from last night at the track with a friend. He has a drag Baretta and needed some help as his normal helper couldn't go, so I went with him as his crewman. His barretta has a Shafroff built small block and makes almost 800hp at the crank. He has the timeslips but for one of his runs I attached the dragy to his cage and pulled some data so I am attaching a couple screen shots. One is a shot of the 1/8th mile data and the other is the 0-60mph time achieved on that run. I also am attaching a youtube link of one of his runs. Unfortunately the video I have is the one that put him out...
I took some weight out of the car recently by getting a ccp hardtop and eliminating the soft top and all associated hardware. I removed all the ac related stuff from under dash, air bags, the no longer used clutch pedal, clutch master cylinder and the spare tire and jack. There may have been a few other things Im forgetting now, but that was then bulk of the weight removal. Car picked up about 1 mph trap speed. Hard to say on the et as track was not that great today it seemed. My best 1/8th mile today was 6.99 seconds at 106mph. There's more in it as traction was an issue today. In fact you can see in the timeslips I posted on one pass how bad it was. My previous best was 6.91 @ 105. If I decide to keep this car then next year I may do something about the rear end and traction issue.
What are your plans to improve traction? Aren't you already on a drag radial? Softer spring settings?
Yeah I'm on drag radials currently. I'm using nitto 555r in 245/50/16 size. I was seriously considering doing a back half and solid axle this year, but decided against it, at least for the time being. I'm going to upgrade to hoosier drag radials after the nittos are worn out, which will be very soon. They are softer rubber compound and are more race oriented so should be an improvement.
Just came across this. In one pass they run darn near 170mph in the 1/4 mile with a mazda bp. Im going to see if I can find more info on what was done to the engine, but this shows the bp engine having more potential than most realize.
