Not a Miata, but here it goes...
Ok guys...I havent been around for years. I dont even know if this thread will last and maybe noone will remember me. My name is Andy, I used to have a black turbo miata. I now have a Turbo S2k and just wanted to drop in here and let you all know how this project has been going. My old miata made 297whp and 270 ft/lb on a GT3271 turbo and a stock ECU, and nothing more than a bipes, 330's, and a booster pump. Here is what Im working with now....
The rpms are off but thats a turbo s2000 with a GT3076R @ 18psi.
Log manifold, 2.5in IC piping, 3" exhaust, precision 750's, AEM EMS, precision IC core. Stock engine. stock 11.1:1 CR. This run was on race fuel. On pump it makes 372whp 246 ft/lb @ 10psi. Comments are welcome. Sorry this isnt a miata but wanted to let you miata guys know i havent forgotten about you all. I miss my miata sometimes.

At least some of us do remember you Andy. I even tried to contact you to buy your turbo kit when you sold it.
If I recall correctly, you had some issues with someone (was it Phil?) but you had a very well sorted out turbo kit.
Glad to see you back and also to see what you've been up to.
How much boost are you running on the S2000? I see you're using an AEM ems now. I guess no more bandaids for you! . I ask because of the high compression pistons.
Edit: I just saw you're running 18psi. As usual; impressive!

Thats a good question, and I believe I have an answer for ya. I would never push that thing on 93 octane, i couldnt retard enough timing from the stock map on 93 with just the bipes. So I left the bipes on the most aggressive setting at all times and never went more than 10-11psi on pump. I saved all the fun for 110 octane we have here at the pump. I ran high fuel pressures but since I was running high pressure through the stock fuel map the injectors never reached 100% duty cycle...just sprayed a LOT more fuel when open. It ran a 12.2 @ 117 as well. It was such a fun little car. I kinda wanna do it again.

I may still have some pics on this computer, lemme see what i can find for ya. I sold it all on here years ago. Had some shipping issues and the buyer and i got it all worked out a long time ago. A couple people on this forum and I didnt get along and I got banned. Im hoping I can stick around this time, play nice and help some people because I still love miatas and know a lot about em.

I'm currently trying to get a job with a new company in which I would travel little to none, allowing me to take the train to work. Which is here nor there.
If it goes through I am seriously considering trading my TC in and getting a S2K. I've wanted one since they came out and have always been a honda guy before i got my miata. I was looking into the science of speed sc kit and it looked pretty impressive. No need to relocate any parts, no drilling or modifying any stock sheet metal. Can easily put down 350whp with standalone and one of their pulleys. Best of all, it can be installed in a weekend.

BTW, your S2000 is looking really good.
One final question: how are you coping with the AEM? Are you tuning the car yourself?

If I had a miata making 480whp (which would still be less stress than a heavier s2000), I'd hope to hell that someone would be nice enough to warn me before I stripped the hell out of my pinion or twisted up an axle.
A few of my personal S2k pictures for reference:
Can't find any broken axle pics, but you can watch the video:
All I was trying to say is that if he's making a good 150hp more than I was, and is still on the stock drivetrain, it would be advisable to be careful.
