Hi all,
I eventually got to the drag strip today for the first time since I turbo'd the 5. I'm pretty pleased with the times but I think I can work a bit on the launch. I didn't have my laptop with me so couldn't play about with the launch control rev limiter. I think I'll try and raise it 100 rpm at a time to try and stop bogging down.
What is a good 60ft on 195 tyres?

I think I can knock another 0.1-2 seconds off the 60ft time with these tyres. I was bogging down ever so slightly with the launch control set at 2k rpm. Like I said, I didn't have my laptop with me to adjust it.
And I'm running Toyo T1-R tyres. I did have Goodyear Eagle F1s and rated them, but these were too cheap to refuse. I'm not sure how popular they are in the USA though. Here's some info: Toyo Tire
Thanks for all the comments. I'm going to be going GT28RS soon and I'll try to dip down into mid to low 12's. Fingers crossed!
I forgot to mention I'm running an 'F1 racing' clutch I bought on ebay from a company in Cali. I was a bit dubious at the time but after reading some positve reviews I decided to go for it. I've been running the car daily like this for almost a year now with no complaints. IIRC the clutch was rated to ~320lb ft torque.
Here is the link to the clutch: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/F1-RA...51810007r33056

You're not kidding about the clutches. Cheap & cheerful but seems to have held up well to abuse *touchwood. The only slight complaints are that it chatters a bit in reverse when the car is hot, and also it grinds a bit if you ride on the bite point for any length of time. For the price i really can't grumble at all.

Well its my first time up at the strip, but here goes:
13-14psi
FLAT SHIFT <<< I think this helped a lot
Standard 1.8 BP
Shell V-Power 99 ron + Nitrous Formula (Race version) Octane Booster
And the hybrid timing map from the MS forum on here. I know I shouldn't be using someone elses spark map with no mods, but motors here are ten a penny and cost around £200-300. Until i make time to get the spark tuned on the rolling road, who gives a f*ck if it blows in a years or two's time.
I was getting slight knock from the knocklite toward the end of 4th gear on most of the runs, so I should really look at pulling some timing from that map. I need to wait until my new tuning cable arrives until I can do that.
I also tried to shift into 5th on some of the runs and ended up with ~13.2. Holding it way into the red in 4th seemed to work best.
