I know what you mean, but that pig rich condition can actually be helping your torque curve a little, believe it or not.
What were you thinking of for traction?
yeah, never posts tho
I posted up his dyno runs and quarter mile runs a bunch of times though.
just go for the gold: 3.6
its only like 200 more or so

Changing rear gears isn't keeping with the bang for the buck on this car. I'll shift to 6th or raise the rev limiter unless a set of gears fall into my lap.
I almost don't want to mention what I'm thinking of doing! I'll disclose if/when it works. It might be a Rue Goldberg sort of thing. If the car isn't accelerating at a certain rate in 1st/2nd gear, that indicates wheelspin.
Might have to use simple sensors and electronics but I'd rather do something more fun and near free.
Gotta love this:

Very good work so far.
I think the best cheap formula to go a bit faster is a set of 24.5 x 8 inch slicks, five speed, and keep your rear gear. You want to be completely topped out just past the finish line in the 1:1 gear. The taller 1st gear of the 5 speed is much better for dragstrip duties. If you are afraid of the slicks, get the tallest drag radial that will fit on the car.
You have the mph to go way in the 11's. You should be in the low 1.7's to high 1.6's 60' with the power you are making.
What rpm are you launching at?

I like slicks a LOT but I like running the DR's on the street and got used ones for cheap. I can't find half decent used slicks, I looked!
I sheared a gear tooth off of the last 5sp that I ran. It was on a roll on in third gear.
That run was launched at 5k. It grabbed and went. I thought I had it made so the next run I launched at 5500 and it instantly spun, immediately shifted to 2nd and it spun. People were dumping oil and coolant on the track all night. I think I was a victim of that. If the track is good, I'm positive that I can get it to the low 1.8's but to get into the 1.7's consistently, I think I need crutches.
BTW, you done great things with your car.

Yes. I am embarrassed that the ET's aren't where they should be. I know the math says that 11.6-11.7's are possible. Factor in other obvious problems and....

Do you get much wheel hop on your drag radials? Did you have any motor bog at all on your better runs?
If you have not run slicks on the car, you will love them as long as you get the right size for your car. I mean LOVE them. It pretty much cured the wheel hop issues on my car.

This run was the first of two. I didn't get to try different things and didn't do a good burnout, usually don't go for it on the first run.
I agree that slicks will do miracles and I could launch with great anger and still hook up. Not sure why, but I want to run the number with tires I run on the street.

I would not be embarrassed at all. It took many trips down the strip to get the ETs I have run.

Ya'll are gonna hate me. But my BEGi S4 puts it down.

1/4 11.576 @ 117.01
BFG's FTW.

I have tried flatshift on and off. At first I was slower with flatshift because it was un-natural, but with a few runs I got faster.
No video, I didn't have a cam at that time.
Pretty sure I've got a build thread here from a couple years back, car hasn't changed.

No timed runs without launch control.

I keep this slip at work, thumb-tacked next to my phone. I put a MSPNP lid on the background which should work as verification.

Launch RPM will vary due to track conditions. It was last set at 4000 according to my tune file. Spark retard / spark cut. Makes cool popping noises. Tires were BFG, I think 225/50/15 T/A Drag. Check the date on the slip though -- it's been a while...
270-something on the dynapack with open loop boost control. Power was still climbing hard to the end. Made 2 psi more boost on the track than the dyno.
