I had thought about doing the rebuild myself, but when it came down to it I just don't have the time. So for $475 out the door the turbo looks ******* brand new. Overall I'm happy with it and cant wait to get it back in the car.
I'm on ATPturbo now trying to order everything I need but I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out all the fitting sizes and hose lengths.

The plan for now, is to try and get it running and next door to the bodyshop before my buddy leaves. I'm selling off some items for him so we're going to do the ole barter system this time around. So depending on how well we do, depends on how much work I have done. I'd like to have the bay sprayed so I'm gonna try for it, but I don't know if it'll happen for sure.
Hoping to have it finished last year and finally meet up with you other CT guys to go for a cruise/photoshoot! lol

I'm not going to argue my views on this, but just say that: you HAVE to know whether the turbo needs one if ran at the oil pressure level your car operates at or not. That's all there is to it. Not just automatically assume "if Journal = don't need it, if Ball bearing = need it".
just my .02

Well the $100 worth of hardware I got is all too big.
The stainless allen studs are WAY too ******* long and the regular stainless studs I got from FM are too long as well.
The ones I removed are cocked from snapping them loose, so now it looks like I'll head to the parts store in the morning to pick up more hardware!![Biggthumpup](https://www.miataturbo.net/images/smilies/biggthumpup.gif)
I'm doing my best to keep patient, but when I spend a few hours on the car and get nothing accomplished I get awful pissed off.

I know the feeling. I'm taking a bit of time off of working on my cars for that reason. Too many days of getting nothing done because of small problems. But even after just a week of not touching anything I already want to dive back in.
Project is looking good! Nice progress. Good luck!

Finally had time to work on the ******* thing and I hope to have it running again by tomorrow night. All that's left to do is drain the gas and refill, change the fuel filter, change the oil, flush the radiator and a couple loose odds and ends.
Then its just a matter of changing the hood pins for the news ones I got, finishing up the interior and figure out what to do about the paint. The bodyshop guy seems to think that buffing it will bring it back, but I don't think it'll be that easy.
If all goes well I'll be driving it again by next weekend!
BEERTIME!!!

Looks good man, where did you get the studs from? That is one of the last things I need to finish my re-assembly. I am hoping for similar results with my turbo, really hoping it looks like your does.
Also I think cleaning the dust off did wonders for the paint...maybe some clay and
a buffing to bring it all the way back?

The ones I ordered off eBay were wayy too long. FM's studs only work for the downpipe, not the turbo to manifold flange. These ones are too short for the downpipe though, but they might have different lengths they can order. I just mixed and matched what I had to get it back together.
You mean you want a rusted to **** looking setup like mine? lol
I have to pack and ship a Mustang hood and a Edelbrock manifold first thing and then I'm gonna get right back to work on the car. I'm hoping to turn the key this afternoon. Just hoping I'm not forgetting anything important!! lol

Drained the old gas, changed the fuel filter, refilled with fresh gas, oil changed with new filter, topped off coolant and re-checked everything.
Unplugged the ignitor and bumped it to check for oil coming out of the feed line. Nothing. Dry as a fart.
Its been awhile since I did this so I cant remember if this is the way to do it.
Should I keep bumping it or does the car actually have to be started to create oil pressure?
Keep in mind the motor has not turned over in probably close to a year.
