is the ss autocrhome 1.8 manifold a pos?

thanks everyone. I'm really frugal, however I don't want to skimp on turbo, manifold, and dp because of what I went through on the last turbo system that went terribly wrong.
Right now I am leaning toward the hks manifold and buying another mig and building my own, very ugly, 3" dp and exhuast.
What kinda cars can I find in a salvage yard with turbo's that will fit on the HKS manifold?
The old saying is: "Cheap, fast and reliable. Pick two."
From your posts it sounds like you don't have a lot of time. If you've only been at home for 33 days since 09/05, do you want to spend that precious time fixing a cracked manifold or DP? When you only have a couple of days a year to enjoy the car do you want to ruin that with a blown junkyard turbo?
If you can't part with the $$$, then leave the car N/A. If you can, get on the phone with FM or BEGI and call it a day. This is NOT a difficult descision to make.

This sounds like a very resonable way to approach it. Then you say this:
and this:
Do you want ghetto or not? My opinion is this, if you have the bucks and no time buy a complete solution. If you have lots of time but not a lot of bucks build it is cheap as you can, knowing that you'll be wrenching on the car a lot. If you enjoy doing the wrenching then by all means have at it.

The last turbo system was a kit from ATP. I am confident that although not world class visually, I can get a mig with flux core and do a good enough job on the dp and exhaust to be reliable. People here think the hks manifold is reliable. I'm not going to spend $3k on a turbo system for this car, just not going to.
Hopefully I'll have a job in town soon.
I'm going with cheap and reliable, not fast...well I hope the car is fast but the process will take some time.

He doesn't have any turbo this small, or I'd just get it from him. I may work something out with him to do the tubing.
