Post At a roadblock, need turbo advice

Hi everyone,

I bought the BEGi T25/T28 turbo manifold a few months back. After ordering it, I bought a craigslist turbo that the guy said was off of a 240 (t25 turbine t28 compressor). Went to test fit them together last night and it turns out the turbine inlet has a T3 flange. No idea what turbo I have to be honest, it says NISSAN 16V on it which according to Nissan forums means its an RB20 turbo.

I can't return the turbo, I can't return the manifold, and now I'm stuck. I've called all around town looking for a used GT25 but no luck. Right now I'm debating taking the hit and buying BEGi's chinacharger (selling the turbo I have now) but I'm reading very mixed reviews here. I also considered a T2->T3 flange adapter, but again I'm hearing that it's a terrible idea and that I'll also have fitment issues.

What would you guys do? Feeling very discouraged :(

Most here don't like the begi China charger. you can pickup a small China t25 on ebay for much less.

sell the t3 turbo and buy a t25/t28 from an s13 or s14 240sx sr20det. you can find them for sale on Zilvia forums.

I'll check out the Zilvia forums now, thanks. Can someone confirm 100% that the flanges will match up? I saw some crusty old S14 turbo today and it had bolts sticking out of it (the BEGi manifold already has these studs, and you need to fasten nuts behind the turbo flange to secure it)

The 4 bolt t25 flange just has holes, it can't have bolts sticking out as the holes are not threaded.

how can any one confirm 100% if you are not showing pick of the manifold nor turbo?

if you have a begi t25 manifold, then any s13 s14 s15 Sr20det stock turbo will fit.

I am running a t28 from an s14, which is same as the gr2560r on my t25 AVO manifold.

s13 sr20det turbos are the cheapest around $200. Max hp around 220.

s14 upper 200 hp Max and ball bearing around $350

s15 dual ball bearing I believe, and pricey around 600

Seeing as how the BEGi 1.6 T25/28 manifold is a fairly common choice amongst this community, I figured someone could confirm they match up.

Any sr20det t25 t28 turbo from s13 s14 s15 will fit 100%.

what you bought is not a t25 so it doesn't fit.

Appreciate the help man! I wonder if the PO knew that it wasn't a T25 lol, he didn't seem too bright

Post some pics of the manifold and turbo and show how it doesn't match up

I'm not home tonight but I'm 99% sure the turbo has a T3 flange. Its a rectangle with 4 holes, looks exactly like a T25 but bigger

You probably have a turbo from a Z31 300ZX Turbo (84-89)

Yea definitely some sort of Z. For the curious, I ended up getting a GT2560 secondhand off the zilvia forums (woot) for $300 shipped. So all is well

The RB turbos are basically t28s but use a t3 flange.
