P0140 won’t go away
Hello,
I have a 1996 turbo miata that needs emissions with a rear o2 sensor code.. I have replaced both o2 sensors spark wires and coil pack it always comes back either in 1 mile or 40 miles. Also hesitation when taking of in first gear. My afr gauge also reads from 13-17.0 while cruising and idling, sometime randomly switching to 8.0 and running extremely rich but then goes back to oscillating.

Hi Gadfly,
the P0140 is related to downstream lambda probe, it's an open circuit error. The ECU can't read anything.
You can still read an oscillation with your afr gauge, because the oscillation is due to te upstream probe.
So the issue is related or to the downstream sensor, or to the wiring connection to the downstream sensor.
Bye
