Default Oil drain size

Couple months ago when I installed my turbo, I over torqued the oil drain fitting on the oilpan, which put a small crack on it. Cleaned it and JB welded it up, and it was fine till now. The pan starting to slowly leak again. So I got another oil pan, and this time I'm going to get the fitting welded on.

Currently I have a Garrett GT2554R turbo, and I use a -8AN oil drain line. For my turbo thats fine, but if I ever decide to change in the future I'll need a -10 line.

So would it matter if I get a -10 fitting welded on and run a -10AN line? I don't think this matters, but I'm just checking to be sure.

Thanks in advance.

Get a 3/8" or 1/2" NPT bung welded in. I did the -10AN bung on the pan - you will be furious when you end up stripping/crossthreading it.

Thanks, I actually didn't think of that. Seems like a better option.
