Default OEM MSM inlet temp sensor vs. GM

Does anyone know the response curve of the OEM msm inlet temp sensor?

I've swapped a msm motor and wiring harness/ecu into my 01 miata. The motor did not come with the inlet temp sensor, and I'm having a hell of a time finding one. (Other than the dealer that only sells it with the ballooning inlet tube for $250)

I was wondering if the GM sensor that megasquirt guys use would work. I could splice it into the stock harness but I want to make sure the response curve is the same. i.e. the temperature to ohms correlation.

This is a $500 dollar engine swap project so I would like to keep the stock ecu. I'm only going for 200 whp, nothing more...for now

thanks in advance

The curve is a little different, but it should be fine. I've done similar before with various Honda's will no issues.

Just check the A/F just so you know you are safe...

turns out the factory service manual has the response curve for the oem sensor...it appears to be very different from the gm sensor :(

I remember looking for a sensor a while ago and I found that there was another mazda that used that sensor. I was able to find it separately and for not too much. I forgot which car it was but search the part number on the sensor and you might be able to find it.
