using a gas lense helps greatly. i also don't weld more than about 3/4" at a time... then i move on to another spot and weld, so there is time for it to cool inbetween beads. i'll even go and do other stuff while the welds cool a bit and then go back to it. i find it helps with preventing warping a lot. anywhere you see a gold colored spot is the end of a bead. i have my post flow set at 8 seconds, but that is probably a little on the short side. don't pull the torch away until the post flow stops.

I didn't even know those existed thats really interesting. What gas do you use? Do you use pure tungsten? If I remember right I use red on metals, green on aluminum. I can't remember what alloy that is... Also, what do you do for fume extraction. I'm tired of getting buzzes from welding. I've tried fans and everything else to no avail.
