my 2871r dyno vs the turbonetics shitter
#4
It does appear to spool better, but def alot less *****.
The previous turbo was the Turbonetics bb. Its not a DBB and that company is full of lying ********.
Anyway. I think the 2871 has alot of room for improvement. I am going to leave it at the dyno for a while to get it dialed in..
I will post the difference between now and then as soon as I have it.

If he got the turbo he was talking about from the other thread, it's the 52 trim compressor. He was talking about doing a very small A/R to aid spool, which would obviously hurt top end.

I dont have the a/rs on hand.
This is the .64 housing.
Once the timing is sorted I think it will be much better.
this is the turbo I have. The very generic model most have.

Again, we will sort the timing and see what happens. I am surprised i am at the same boost. I expected to be running it lower. i am sure the timing is why. I would like to see 350-360 whp and ftlbs on this dyno pack thingy.
RRE is still rocking it out. They had the bay full of time attack car, road race, and ralley cars. I was the 5th person on the dyno that day..
More to come. car should be on the dyno next week..

What gear was your car in when pulling on the Dynapack? It says you have a final drive ratio during the pull of 6.033 to 1. If you were in fourth, which is probable, that would mean that your tq and hp numbers are artificially high (which always makes a happy customer but doesn't tell the truth). The dyno operator knows this and is giving you BS numbers to make you feel good. That is why it feels slower than the numbers indicate. The numbers are just incorrect. It is a very common trick...happens often...
Good luck.

I am not sure what gear it was in.
I am quite sure this tuner and the shop would not **** around with fluffing numbers. They know it wont fly with me and or my engine builder. The tuner is also an honest guy.
I am down on power simply because the 2871 numbers are on a wimpy dyno, not a mustang.
The HP is about what the mustang said and about TQ is about 20ftlbs less.
So the lower tq and the non mustang dyno all = less power. It wasnt a slouch, it just didnt have the ***** I did before. This is the one track I need every amount of power i could get..
I believe this was happening..
