Mimi the Miata's turbo build
First off let me preface everything with the fact that I have absolutely no idea what I am doing! Ohh, and I'm new here.
Now with that out of the way I will introduce Mimi.
The previous owner is a photographer
The car was completely stock when I got it, minus the rims
And a tow hitch for a bike rack
This was all soon to change!

In case your wondering why my drivers side fender is blue, It is because mustangs can't turn. Some kid Let his buddy drive his new mustang. Buddy tries to take a turn way to fast and plows into the CRV sitting next to me at a red light.
Luckily no one was seriously hurt.
Mimi walked away with only a black eye
Instead of doing the logical thing and getting it fixed and looking good again, I went another rout. I went back to the stock body look and pulled the finder and head light off my first miata. I plan to fix the bomex bumper and paint the car myself, but that will come later.

Now that you know Mimi and her story, lets talk about why I am really here. Over the past six months that I have owned her, Mimi has gotten fat! What can I say, I spoiled her with all the luxuries that I have come accustom to over my years of driving.
The easy way to fix this would be to put Mimi on a diet, but lets face it, no one likes a diet. Plus I just got a check from the insurance company, and I love a challenge. So I decided I would go the other route to get Mimi back in fighting shape. I started by looking on ebay, thinking it would be a cheep way to get my foot into the turbo charger world. I picked a kit out and decided to see what y'all thought about it. After 5 minutes of reading I threw the ebay idea out the window, and kept looking. I decided that I would go with the Shanghai-S Turbo System, but before I bought it I found a kit on MX5Atlanta. I went out to the guys house and bought what he told me was a complete kit. It wasn't......
Not only is it not a complete kit, but I am finding out from my research that it isnt even for my car. FML My miata luck hasn't changed at all. Moral of the story, know exactly what your looking for or spend the extra money to save yourself the headache and time.

So that leaves me with a mess of parts and a little more knowledge than I had before.
Link to sellers add [For Sale] [NA+NB] 1.8 miata turbo kit with flyin miata ecu!!
This is what I've got:
A TD04H turbo
HKS top mount manifold with relief cuts (missing studs and used) and a down pipe for a NA
Flyin Miata BOV (I think)
Flyin Miata Link ECU
Vacuum lines, some gaskets, oil supply line, oil pan tap fitting, and some worm clamps
What I believe is a Flyin Miata intercooler, with some of the Flyin Miata piping
An extra intercooler with a 1% leak and some other piping that I have no idea about :/
Good though, the turbo kit isn't even on the car yet and it's already attracting *****!

What I am missing:
-A way to attach the MAF and filter to the turbo
-A way to attach the BOV to the Intercooler piping
-Intercooler pipe connectors
-Oil supply line adapter
If anyone notices anything else I am all ears!
I am in the process of determining weather the ecu will work as a piggyback system for the nb or if it is solely a stand alone for the na. Tomorrow I will be trying to fit the intercooler and piping to see if what I have is usable

That red intercooler with the leak is the old style Flyin Miata FMIC. I run it on my car. I believe the charge pipes that you have with the other FMIC belong with the red one. I run the same version on my car. Works wonderfully.
You're probably going to need an upgraded clutch.
Looking forward to seeing some progress.
