Megasquirt PnP doesn't PnP nice
Hey guys, my boyfriend has a turbo '96, ran reliably enough but obviously it needs to be tuned. Finally got hands on a MS PnP ECU aaaand it doesn't want to idle. Had a number of people remote in and look at everything, they say the values look good enough to idle.
The car starts and runs great at a cold start but when it gets to temp, it doesn't want to continue idling and the AFR readings go off the chart. Maybe the startup enrichment is too high? Fairly new to the tuning game. Can't find any base maps just to get me started for the '96, the ones he can find don't want to jive with the ECU's software. Reading the manual, reading hundreds of other threads, and watching countless YouTube videos has only helped so much, so here I am trying my best to help him any way I can.
No idea what we're doing as far as tuning software goes, any support and help would be greatly appreciated. Spending hundreds of dollars to have some other schmuck do the whole thing really isn't an option.
Note: He does not have a innercooler yet but the car is running without a hood for now and the intake temps are good.

Always tune the idle AFR when it it is the hottest. This may make the engine want to idle at 12:1 or something but this is ok as it won't make the car have a bad idle or bog. So drive it in traffic and let it really heatsoak, then tune so that it has a 14.7 idle while heatsoaked. When cold, let the EGO control take out fuel to bring it back to 14.7 (much better than getting the EGO trying to catchup by adding fuel, which is a losing game).
