The best thing you can do is buy a artech manifold and call it a day. I had big baller custom stainless sidewinder manifold, would never do it again. Listen to these guys and save your self some headache.

It's a free country and I enjoyed the entertainment, but . . .

do you have to destroy such a nice car? Why not experiment with a used up SM chassis instead?

There is a reason fae fae is foreveralone: many talk about being a 20k guinea pig, but none have the ***** or the wallet to actually make it happen, cause when you think about it - having spent that much money, and still not making over 400, and still never having driven the car reliably for longer than a week, it's not all it's hyped up to be.

In no means do I plan to destroy a car, I said I admired him in some respects. This build will be top notch and just looking for a fun car I can jump in and not worring about blowing it up while still having fun. 10k is the most I want to put into it. I think for what I want to achieve I have some pretty conservitive expectations. Im not looking to build the "fastest" or anything like that.

I put 10k into my car and it blew up when I thought I was careful. Let me know your secret.

Do you plan to run 0w-20 unicorn tears or 15w-50 snake oil?

You have no idea how far off you are. You think you can spend $10k and have a solid, reliable, no worries 300+ whp Miata?

If you're looking for a fun car you can jump in and not worry about blowing up for under $10k, then spend your 10k and make 240 whp.

Also: Just posting EFR in your dreamy parts list is not impressive. Posting pics of all said parts in a pile in your living room/garage/bed, that's impressive.

Disclaimer: All of my above statements are subject to correction through pics of your previous fantastic DIY fabwork

first of all. there will never be another fae. i dont think fae can even reproduce his faeness of past.

your build is stating flashy items but missing more important ones. less hype more read. at least if youre not going to read start throwing ebay parts at it already. ebay pulley, cams, turbo kit, fmu. gogogo. if youre going to waste your time and money at least make it a good show.

Internals and hardware are $2k at most then all of the hard parts. Its feasable to build a solid motor for under $10k. If it took anymore than that people would do LSX swaps all day. I can have a heads/cam LS3 for about $8k without the subframes and mounts. Which i can have done cheap... My friend has put LSX motors in anything you can think of, he can weld custom subframes for a few cases of beer and dinner.

Sounds awesome. We don't have anyone here making over 300whp and we all use off the shelf turbo kits because we dont know how to fabricate.

Glad to have someone here to teach us things.

You said $10k into the car. Sure, you can build a MOTOR for $10k. But just the hardparts for the turbo setup (turbo, IC, manifold, exhaust, ECU) will be $5k. Still need radiator, clutch, transmission, rear diff, suspension, etc etc.

Wait....

Why am I trying to explain this to you?
