Wow dude, you've just taken a 20 second 1/4 car down to like the 12s and you're disappointed???
Stock rods supposedly snap around 250hp area.
That thing HAS to be a crazy son of a bitch!!!

now im worried :| its been at 15psi for over a year as my daily with drag strip almost every wednesday and street fun every weekend... i beat the crap out of this thing... ill start looking for rods and pistons...
its an EGT vics manifold that has had the upper section gutted into a plenum. seemed large to me but the lower section/runners that go into the head are still stock.

I told him exactly the same thing when we tuned it: its at the limit.
And yet he's been raping face for over a year on it, absolutely beating on it daily, and its still kickin like a champ.
Must be a failflora block
Did we mention he's on his 11'th transmission?
I think the biggest bottleneck at this point is the teeny 2.5" exhaust

i know... im fighting the urge for new wastegate springs...
is that some kind of bad *** aftermarket stuff? i mean its gotta be better than my junkyard EGT motor that had 130k on it before i started boosting it...
sadly lucky number 11 is starting to have low RPM shift issues... lucky number 12 is coming soon...
gettin a raise at work... might be 3" after the down pipe very soon or should i go bigger?

Big and short as possible DP and exhaust.
If you ever build your motor you will not want to rebuild your DP and exhaust too. Once upon a time I thoght 3" was big. Yes there is significant benefit to bigger

Except he's running an evo16g.
He will be well past its efficiency with anything bigger than 3", and has even less room to work with than we do.
Just do a smooth taper to 3" as soon as possible on the downpipe and run the rest 3" JT. I think it should get the job done just fine.
But before anything else, your next mod should be h-beam rods. No ifs ands or buts about it.

That's not my point. I mean if he decides to go to a bigger turbo in the future there are big spool advantages.
It also doesn't cost too much more at all
