IACV question
I just started my car (90 chassis/94 engine/ms) for the first time in many a month and at first the idle was between (tach isn't working so I don't exactly know where it is) 1500-2000 rpm's and there was a major suck/blow noise.
It was the iacv, which after reading a few threads I decided to not hook it up. So then I blocked it off ala hose with plug in the end. Then I started her again and she would run for about 2 seconds around 300-700 rpm's then die.
I also fucked the timing up so I had to retime it; and seeing how I pulled the cas off I fooled with that a ---- hair each way and it proved to do nothing substantial.
Is there a setting in ms that I need to turn off for the iacv or do I perhaps have something else ailing my car?

You need to adjust the BISS. Its the little screw in the top of the throttle body. Unplug the IACV, back that screw out a good bit and restart the car. Once you get it restarted, get back the idle down to 800rpm, lock the timing at 10 degrees and re-set it. Unlock the timing, and then set the idle where you want it.

Also sweet! Thanks for the heads up, I will be doing this as soon as I exit drunk stage and return to buzzed stage. Do I still need to do the jumper thing with MS? I am pretty sure I do but not 100%

Sonofabitch! My laptop is dead as a doornail. I didn't think that sounded rite but figured I'd take a shot in the dark at it and was hoping I could finish this sans portable computer. Thanks again!

Just wanted to close this thread. Adjusted the idle screw about 4 full turns to get her around 800rpm's, adjusted the diverter valve which was about as loose as it could be before the adjuster falling out, and set the timing.
