I would read that as he is using EBC but not to assist low RPM spool, just to maintain target boost which im guessing is around 21
then again, I'm wrong as often as I am right
This is correct^ . The EBC is utilising the base duty cycle required for 21 psi at steady state to bring it up on boost = 22.6% Duty cycle.
I could use an EBC spool assist strategy of 100% DC say up to 15psi and my spool would be materially earlier. But I don't like the feel of it on part throttle. I prefer to have a boost by TPS correction and a more linear power delivery through the throttle. Spool assist strategies can mess this up and the turbo comes on like a nitrous button in the transient boost areas. In and out.
I'll do the spool assist for a laugh to see what the result is and post it but its not representative of my preferred setup.
This is correct^ . The EBC is utilising the base duty cycle required for 20 psi at steady state to bring it up on boost = 21.7% Duty cycle.

I feel the exact same, I can modulate power so much better running wastegate and the extra couple of hundred RPMS down low arent worth it to me -- up top, full throttle EBC to raise from 15 to 18+

Waiting on the Turbo to arrive. I will share my log ASAP once installed. I have not seen much data on the Garrett GBC22-350, so I'm excited to see what it's capable of!
