Default HP Reliability questions!

Looking to boost my '91 1.6L Miata. Looking for a goal of 225whp. Is that a reliable goal on a stock motor with only ARP head studs, upgraded clutch, 550cc Injectors and 240lph fuel pump on Megasquirt built around a Garrett tb0363. What else should I be looking at upgrading to make it a "Bulletproof" reliable setup, Is that turbo capable of 225whp or even just over 200whp?

I would skip the head studs, 550cc injectors (assuming Rx7), and the 255lph pump. and would go for yellow rx8 injectors instead.

with that turbo, you'll need about 12-14psi or so to hit your goal, and should last a very long time. It's a 50 trim T3 that pairs well with a 1.6L.

I would hope you are going to mount that nice volvo turbo on a manifold, and then further mount a pipe to the outlet of the turbo to direct exhaust gasses away from the heater core, preferably downward (sometimes referred to as a downpipe), no? If this is such the case, which pieces will you be using?

I also assume that you think it a good idea to cool off the air that said volvo turbo has compressed. Assuming that you have deemed this a necessary feature of a turbocharging system to make it "bullet proof" what set up will you be using.

May I also suggest a differential from a 94+ car? I hear that the diffs from 1.6 miatas have self destructive tendencies when subjected to anything more than about 90lb/ft or so.

I have a 90 1.6 with flow force injectors gt2860 intercooler downpipe and basic stuff that you need to do and should be va very reliable 230ish. I'm running 10-14psi depending on throttle position. You'll be fine then build a 1.8

+1 On Forceflows. Also make sure you have the supporting mods to keep your motor happy otherwise. Like an upgraded PCV valve/catch can, upgraded radiator. I might also look into doing your valve stem seals if I were you.
