Default Heat shield project started tonight

I'm motivated to make a kick-*** heat shield.
I sat down and stared at the motor for about 1/2 hour trying to decide how to go about it.
I've gotta get some new heat-wrap for the heater-core hoses and wrap the brake reservoir as well.

I started by re-routing my oil feed line. Previously I had it coming up the dipstick and over the top. I cut about 4 inches off the line and now run it under the turbo and up from the side. No there's nothing in the way.

I'd also like to move the dipstick slightly. The tube itself has a small flange on it that holds it to the bellhousing. Currently, the flange is on the frontside of the housing. Has anybody moved the flange to the backside? I don't think it will upset the way it inserts into the oil-pan. Moving it back and extra 1/3" will help heat-shield plans a lot.

Here are pics of the new routing, the dipstick flange, and the ghetto heat-shield I've currently got on there.

Funny you should mention that. I was looking at the dipstick tube and had the same idea just a few hours ago.

Time for brakes!
