Default Is this a good DIY deal?

Hey guys! I would appreciate some well rounded opinions on a deal I just came across on Facebook marketplace. The guy is willing to sell me his greddy TD04 1.6 manifold and the intercooler that came with the kit, for $200. Obviously the alternative is a log t3 cast manifold from eBay and the smallest t3 turbo I can get (currently the tiny CXracing t3 turbo meant to go on the sr20). My realistic goals are 150-170whp at low boost pressures, and a smooth power delivery from a quick spooling turbo for mountain pass driving. The location is a couple hours away and would be a weekend trip kinda thing so is this definitely worth the time and money? I am not familiar with the greddy kit’s reputation for longevity, but here are the images he sent of the parts. Obviously the manifold needs a good rust cleaning and any small cracks or pits from age can be welded and fixed.

Update! Guy said he would drive down next weekend when he runs to the city for things

That is a Stripes IC setup. You should be able to search and get info on it. Probably been a decade since I have seen one.

I'd say its a good deal for $200. As long as your engine management is up to it.

Keep in mind the Greddy was hot **** 20 years ago, there are much much much much better options now, but none of them $200.

Also you'll need to cut that manifold, add oil lines too.

Cool! i appreciate y'all replying i got him to throw in a set of turn signal intakes for $20 to round out the deal after he told me there is a crack in the manifold (he is a tig welder and is going to fix it before he gives it to me)

Have the flange cut between the runners at a machine or metal shop with a bandsaw. search "relief cuts"

i have read a little about this after you recommended it to me earlier, i read something about expansion distances with different blade widths and how certain cuts that are not wide enough or supported enough will effectively re-close up

Yup, releif cuts and all that. Otherwise a solid setup. My friend is still running what is left of a frankenstiend greddy turbo. It's been upgraded to a 19T 6+6 compressor. You probably will want to rebuild the turbo, kit's are not expensive and it is easy to do. For $200 can't really go wrong.

Toss in a clutch, Speeduino, FlowForce 380s, and a wideband and you have a solid kit that will make 200rwhp and spool quick.

Just looked closer and it only has the turbine housing for the turbo? Does it come with the rest of the turbo? (If not, any other TD04H should fit right into the housing? The flange is T25, so you can also bolt up whatever).

I am not 100% sure what the guy will be bringing me, we negotiated only the manifold and only the intercooler because I have read horror stories about the greddy downpipes. And frankly the pictures of the turbo he sent me look like the compressor housing is about 6 years past a simple rebuild lmao. But who knows if he decides to just let the rest of it go too haha

the plan either way is to use this: https://www.cxracing.com/TRB-T28-3 with a matching CXracing 1.6 Miata oil line kit to be sure it will fit the turbo :^)
and yes! I will be starting by purchasing a speedyefi plug n play kit, and some 1.8 injectors or something off a part-out, “upgrade” to a 4psi wastegate from like a Volvo turbo or Saab turbo or something, turbosmart manual boost controller, smack it all together for about $1300-$1500 after its all said and done with exhaust fabbing

the idea is to future proof myself in some small but easy ways so that when I throw in a 1.8 rear driveline and upgrade the clutch I can safely boost my torque curve without shredding axles and such
