Default Garrett ID Tag

I'm looking at a "new" nissan sr20det gt2560r from a local guy on craigslist. Everything about the turbo seems legit except there is no data tag on the chra that I am used to seeing. There is "2560-R" that is stamped in the chra on the circumference where the compressor housing mounts. Here's a link, what do you guys think?

Doesn't the tag only come on turbos that were built for OEMs? As in, youd have to get one from Nissan to have the Nissan oem garret part number tag on it.

It has a box with a tag on it, good enough for me.

Not sure about that. I have a 2554 with a Garrett tag and every other Garrett I've seen has one. This one looks like the real deal, just trying to be sure.

Have him take a better pic of the tag on the box?

Well that's an issue as well. Box doesn't match the turbo, already checked that out.

looks legit despite the no tag. it's got the right markings, and the it's got the cast wastegate divider which usually indicates it's a dual ball bearing from my understanding (most of the t28's I've seen without the divider are usually the journal ball bearing s14 turbos). If I wanted to spend money on a new turbo, I'd get it if I could get his price down a little

Thanks for the info. The tag is the only thing that has me waiting to make an offer. It looks legit to me as well but I'm no expert.
