Finally feeling boost... need a clutch!
Took it out for a little spin today to check my air/fuels and tried to set it to 6psi, which I will run till I get a new clutch. No detonation that I could detect. about 10:1 AFR. Pretty sure my wastegate isn't tight enough, real laggy and only about 4psi. In 4th it spiked to about 9psi at 4500rpm though. Wow. At first it surged forward and then the clutch started slipping. I'll be getting an ACT extreme.
It's been about 6 months, but now I might actually begin to have fun with this.
By the way, who has the best prices on the ACT Xtreme?

Congrats on the test drive! Feels good right I've been at 8psi on the stock clutch for 4 months without any real problems. Just baby it until you get your ACT clutch installed and you probably will be fine at your current boost level.
I have an Xtreme sitting on my workbench waiting to be installed. I can't wait to install it and crank up the boost.

Something else to consider is a clutch rebuild. In ATL we've got a chain of stores called "Clutch Exchange". They do all the clutch stuff like resurfacing pp, selling OE replacements and rebuilding. That's right- rebuilding. A lot of the clutch parts are serviceable. I took in a Spec stage 2 that came apart at 5k and got a back a PP and disk combo that was setup to hold 500ftlbs - cost $299. New friction material (ceramic copper composite) was added to the sprung disc and the PP spring was replaced along with mating ring. It's a good option for somebody who already has the parts - and those are easy to come by when somebody is replacing their performance clutch. - rob

I have a centerforce clutch in the car right now, do you think it could be rebuilt to hold as much power as an Xtreme?
By the way, for those who don't check the MS forum, I'm back down again.
But the drive I had right before I had gotten the wastegate tight and was dialing it in to 6psi. Felt awesome. Never floored it.

Yes. The price depends on what you want and what's needed. The guy who did mine primarily builds/rebuilds for commercial diesels, so he's got a pretty good line on what to do for managing power delivery within the confines of an existing platform. I suggest calling the local clutch shop and asking them if they can do it. I originally approached my local shop looking for a new clutch, that's when they said they could rebuild the existing unit for less dough and to my specs.
