Default EBC kicking my ***

97 Miata stock engine with MKturbo kit. Bought the diyautotune EBC in hopes to get faster spool and run about 12psi. I am getting 8 on wastegate but not hitting full boost until 4000rpm.

Hooked up ebc and tried tuning first on open loop, but I keep hitting overboost(set at 185kpa) even with duty cycles set to 0. I had initially set to 15, then 10, then 5 and all overboost. Is 2300rpm too high to have it at 100? I wanted to keep it closed to spool faster but figured 2300 was well safe to stay at 100. What is weird is that 2k rpm WOT pull in 2nd or 3rd gear it didn't hit overboost, but 4th and 5th gear would hit it every time.

You’ll actually hit overboost at 175kpa, with the 10kpa hysteresis, so just under 11psi. Set it to 1-2 above your goal, or you’ll hit it on cold mornings. I’d suggest 200. Set it all to 0, and try another run. But it’s possible your solenoid is wired backwards, or there’s too much of a restriction.

I'll give that a shot thanks! I didn't think you could wire the solenoid backwards.

Don't think you can wire it backwards. I was told never the use 100. This worked for me low boost with my EFR.
EVERY setup will require different tables.

thanks. I had watched a carpassionchannel video of him tuning open loop and he had 100 in the first 2 columns and bottom row. What boost are you running with that table? Did you set that up or a dyno tune?

I have it better now. The only time it spikes is a 5th gear pull from 2k. It will hit 200kpa, but any other gear it is maxing about 185kpa which is good. I need to try closed loop control but even with reading on this site it still kind of confuses me. Here is my table now. I still need to mess with the partial throttle part of the table.

You can't really wire them backwards, but they may act differently depending on how you wire it. For instance, I like to put a switch inline with the signal wire. One way will result in wastegate only when switched off, the other will result in ALLOFIT. You can also invert the signal in TS, which I believe is supposed to change 0-100 to 100-0 being min/max respectively. It also solves half the problem above.
