Default Dumb sTupid turbo noob mistake

Was porting my china turbo and blew there’s the side. So I need a hot side housing. Is it best to get a new one and not port so much, or get a different booster than the mk turbo kit?

Thanks

Choice is either another turbo or Garrett. Im sure Lars can get you his source or even ship you just the turbo.

Is a 2860 the equivalent?

That I’m not sure on. If you’ve got a 1.6, a 2554 is cheaper and capable. Not much more than 200hp. If you want more or have a 1.8, yeah 2560 is a good choice.

So you're using a MKTurbo kit? If so then you'll need a t3 turbo. That pretty much limits you to the eBay stuff if you want an appropriate size.

I'd weld the housing. If that's not an option then talk to Lars and see what he can do for you.

You got an email. Unfortunately that is the one part of the turbo I can't source on my own. So I sent you a link to a full replacement.

Just get a replacement turbo. They're not a lot of money. FWIW when I ported my mk turbo, I only opened up the flapper hole.
