Brain I want a set of pins too

Braineack 09-20-2007 03:22 PM

i gotcha, i have 6 pms for pins in my inbox. will drop that shit in an envelope tonight. If you all pay of course.

some of it may take a week, since i only have enough for 9 extras currently, and you may have to wait for the rest to come in.

All i need is your paypal :)

With all the connector research everyone did, did anyone see a female connector like this? I don't have the option of just stripping the coil to make a PNP harness. I might have to get a weather pack connector to make my own instead. Thought you guys might know. Attachment 215823

Hey, found the thread again. Thought it was deleted. Anyway, Brain, I need the paypal username to pay you for the male pins. I would also be interested in a response to the above post if such an item exists. Thanks.

Braineack 09-22-2007 07:04 PM

I had to copy this post we me as the thread starter, lazzer was deleting all his posts.

Anyone sell a kit with the 4 COPS and the Plugs and Pins? I'd be interested as I don't really have the time to hunt down all the parts.

Marc, just buy the a harness that is listed now in the classifieds here on MT.net, and then car-part.com and do a search for 2003ish corolla coilpacks.

Ebay.

Grabbed my set for 45 shipped :)

steelrat 09-24-2007 03:43 PM

I got mine from Standard Kulak, and they came with connectors, although, one of them does not have a lot of wire.....

Had them in the trunk on sunday, didn't get a chance to chat about them though.....

So at this point, all I need is some wire.... and time. <G>

Dave,

Dave,

You are lucky Dave, You never mentioned that. Mine from plazek came with no connectors.

M-Tuned 09-24-2007 09:18 PM

Install looks soooo easy on my 2000 SE. Think I am going to have to do this :)

Couldn't tell through all the shipping tape .... opened the package on Sunday to bring along to the tour.... that's when I realized. Hopefully, there's enough of a stub of wire for me to get some extensions on it.

If that's the case, it is just finding the time, and the wire for the runs.... <G>

Dave,

marty_uiuc 10-11-2007 06:28 PM

did i buy the wrong toyota coils? there are only two prongs in the plug. i am assuming this means they do not have an igniter...?

they are p/n 90919-02214

cjernigan 10-11-2007 07:24 PM

Pretty sure they're the wrong ones.

ampz 10-12-2007 05:11 PM

You have bought the wrong ones for this type of application.

But all may not be lost. If they only have 2 pins, they may be the same as the 1.6 coils you have now.

Which means, you can have a try to see if those 2 pins are 12V and GND, and fire when GND goes low. Just like you 1.6 coils.

You would just wire the 1 & 4 and 2 & 3 coils in parallel to the samewires on your ignitor which IIRC are white (1 & 4) blue (2 & 3) and red GND.

Good luck. :)

Disclaimer: I take no responsibility if you blow your shit up as a result of this :bigtu:

Marc D 10-17-2007 01:06 PM

i think i blew up one of the coilpacks on my car, does any one know where else i could get these COPs? the yards around here are asking too much, theres not many newer cars in the pick in pulls around here, mainly older years.

ebay doesnt seem to have anything good right now either

jayc72 10-17-2007 01:10 PM

We ran off the guy who was selling them

TurboTim 10-17-2007 01:12 PM

Actually "we" banned him, he didn't voluntarially leave.

Ben 10-17-2007 01:16 PM

he was getting them out of a junkyard in/around Cumming, GA I believe. Really not that far from me. I saw it on ebay at that time. :)

www.car-part.com will show many, many junkyard/dismanteler sources to get them from as groups and individually.
