Speaking of crimp pins.
I am fixing the mess that the prevous owner made of my stock ECU harness. In the process one of the wires fell apart right at the crimp pin and I don't know how to get the pin out. I was under the impression that you just insert something into the little hole and pull the pin out. I used a needle because it was the only thing small enough to slide in the hole and I still can't get the pin out. I think i need a paper clip hammered flat or something because nothing else is small enough to get in that little slot. I am still waiting on 2 COPs from lazzer, i did get connectors out of the deal but it sucks being short 2 coils. |
if i recall, the NB connectors have a "latch" in them. let me see...
http://ecommas.tycoelectronics.com/c...1-5763-1_A.pdf page 7-9, figures 11-13. Matt |
Mine look a bit different than those, though maybe all i need is a stronger more flat tool that I can pry up with. I'll try it in the daylight. If it doesn't work i'm soldering directly to the outside of the pin and closing the door latch on the back. It's just the idle wire anyway.

Braineack,
So are you gonna throw together a few harnesses for locals? I'll throw some bucks your way. Make mine exactly like Y8s. I got an NB. :) Don't need a tach signal if my reading is right. Frank |
Braineack,
I'm interested in getting the connectors. I just picked up my last to coils yesterday and I'm getting ready to make the harness. Are you selling the just the pigtails or a whole pnp harness? I can probably get like 5 ignitors for the NA's if you need them. |
Talk to Ben, im not making these harnesses. Busy building Megasquirts.

Braineak,
Are those the same connectors that 'y8s' is using, Toyota part number : 90980-11885. If so can I get 16 of the pins and I'll order the connectors from the website he listed and I can make my own harness. Thanks |
Just to gloat... I got connectors! :p

Braineak - I'll take a set of pins

great news.
the contacts I bought work for the toyota connectors and fit onto the cops (.070" contacts tyco PN: 173631). So you're looking at around $27 shipped for PnP connectors, and a dollar or two for the contacts from me. not bad. if you need 16 pins let me know. i ordered about 100 extra or so. |

Man. you guys can't click back a few pages? This fits the coils. pins separate. Braineack needs to post the p/n and then you can all buy them at onlinecomponents.com and distribute them amongst yourselves because they have like a $30 minimum which adds up to fifty jillion pins.

ok well how about a part number and a website...?
Toyota P/N 90980-11885 for the coil connector. www.discounttoyotaparts.com www.partznet.com Never used either. Put the p/n in the 'search by factory p/n' and put 'Toyota' and it should pull it up. $4.42 each. I have NO idea if that comes with pins. Toyota lists pins but nobody seems to have them listed on the parts sites. 82998-12790 (tin) and 82998-12780 (gold bling). Best yet? 400+ pages of Toyota connector repair details and p/ns! http://departments.weber.edu/automot...s%20Repair.pdf |

Since my car is running OK, this is really low on my project list behind epoxying my garage floor this weekend, putting in a 4-post lift, installing a sprinkler system, and re-tiling the bathroom. At least the COPs look good sitting on my work bench.

i did. time to create a page for the archives. :bang: |
partznet.com was $1.75 cheaper (shipping) than discounttoyotaparts.com despite them appearing to be the same website (or at least ordering engine).
I couldn't find a valid 10% off coupon code. All were expired. Braineack, Do you still have 16 pins available? Can I paypal you some bucks for them. Frank |
