My coil order got screwed up... running a set of coils from my friends '99 (he put on COP last week) for now. The damn salvage yard sent me two regular coils despite asking them two very specific questions...

1) Are these COP coils?
2) Are all FOUR included in the price?

Paid $35 for fast shipping and received two regular fucking prizm coils. Now I'm going to be out $85 for shitty coils unless they let me return them. Then I'll only be out $50 for shipping.

Let this be a lesson to all of us. Buy these from Lazzer instead of getting in a hurry.

Damn it.

Sorry to hear that. Who's your friend running cop? Did he use this thread or make his own?

Arkmage 08-24-2007 10:12 PM

I helped him do it based off this thread. works like a charm... currently a 0.057 gap and running smooth.

You used a credit card, RIGHT?
Dispute that shit.

Have another set lazzer?

lazzer408 08-25-2007 01:03 AM

I can get 3 more if I have 3 more buyers to commit.

That's you and cjernigan (i think). I just need one more.

cjernigan 08-26-2007 01:05 AM

I'm game.

Picked up a set on Friday @ the local wrecker.... Somebody else was grabbing parts while out for lunch, so I figured, ah.... what the hell, may as well get them while I was here. Not the cheapest local price, but with no shipping, plus getting them in hand in 10 mins, it was worth it....

Now I need to source the connectors. Checked with GM dealer at the same time, the coils were listing for 180 bucks new or something like that.... and I think the connectors were listing for 43 bucks or something. Will have to investigate further now that I have the actual coils.....

I already have a spare harness to re-do the injectors (broke one of the locking tabs out of the injector connector)... so I think it has everything up to the OEM coil packs too.....

Hey Lazzer, maybe we should have a "quick" summary thread that's a sticky with the part-numbers, model years, etc...... Or add somethin' to Brain's DIY FAQ......? What do you guys think?

Dave,

this will be good for the archive...as im putting write-ups and resoruces there.

as far as the connectors I'm joining the epoxy crew and using .070" ecu solder contacts for the wires...

.110" female (spade) connectors work too. Shielded or unshield, if un.. just toss some shrink wrap over it.

y8s 08-27-2007 10:58 AM

there's a couple toyotas in the parking lot.....

lazzer408 08-27-2007 02:28 PM

I had considered starting a new thread about cop and cleaning it up. That will take awhile. This thread turned into a walkthru but was originally just my question if anyone did it. I couldn't wait and figured it out. =)

Hey Braineak, it that your own...personal....Jesus? Someone to hear your prayers? Someone who cares?

y8s 08-27-2007 02:33 PM

Got the coils. Now to reverse engineer that damn connector.

I forgot that I had wanted in earlier. You still got room for one more. Might as well throw another couple bucks at a project that will never end. What was it, $70? Since Y8s has his he can figure it all out for an '01 and I'll just copy his shit.

Frank
