COP on 1,6 99-00 questions
Hi,
inspired by all that COP talk I try to figure out, how to do this on my 1,6 99 NB. Most of the Americans don't even know, that the NB-Miata was produced as a 1,6. (Well, they did this... and sold it in Germany and Europe).
I'm not quite sure about the ignitor part with my 1,6 NB. I haven't found a special pic on how to do that part. Maybe someone could explain this. My original coils are connected with 2 small clips, is the wide clip only on the earlier models?
Help me please...
Thanks!

If your ignition coils have two separate connectors, each with three wires (Black, Black/White, Brown/Yellow on one, and Black, Black/White, Brown on the other) then you have the same ignition system as a US-spec 1.8. Follow that wiring diagram instead of the US '90-'93 diagram.
I believe that Euro-spec and JDM cars changed to the newer style ECU and ignition system at around the same time as US-spec cars did.

Thanks,
just got another question. It is quite difficult to find the right 90919-02239 coils as used and therefor cheaper parts over here in Germany. Would the 002229 or 02240 parts from the (first number) Toyota Yaris 1,0 (is this car known in the US?) or the (second number) Prius (NHW11) work?
Thanks again.
