Default boost breaks ****

**** me.

So i go for a drive to relax before my test today and..... MY CLUTCH STARTED SLIPPING. It wont hold in first gear. The RPMS climb fast but i dont move that fast. I smelled a little clutch after i beat on it for a minute or 2 in 1st 2nd and 3rd.

Clutch is a brand new ACT HDSS. I broke it in before i even had the turbo on. Never launched it, only have about 150 miles on my turbo.

Guess my tranni is coming out the beginning of summer. This time im gunna resurface my ******* flywheel.

With an SR20 t25 you cannot possibly be making more power than the ACT is rated at.
This is not usuall, I'd have to say it is because you didn't resurface your fw.

Quit beating on it in 1st, and you can still get some life out of it.

im hoping that i just glazed it over and 100 miles or so of easy driving will get it back.

I don't build my **** to drive it easy, i have always beat the **** out of everything i've built. I know it sounds stupid, but i build my cars to enjoy them. If it breaks, Ill upgrade it assuming funds can support that.

It was a horrible judgment call on my part rushing to put the clutch in and not resurfacing the flywheel. Live and learn.

In to see what your flywheel looks like now. My ACT did nothing but break drivetrain parts after I installed it.

I am ashamed of myself. I jumped to conclusions and wasnt thinking strait (thats what non stop studying for exams will due to you).

My clutch IS NOT slipping. The slight smell i got was brakes from me slamming on them. I didn't think the RPMs were matching with the MPH cause i was ******* thinking about 2nd (first wont go to 60mph, lol). The car also was slower than i remembered cause i still dont have a great tune and my AFR corrections werent on cause they were set to kick on above like 180*F and it wasnt fully warmed up.

Basically the moral of the story is : don't be so ******* paranoid and don't drive your just recently boosted car as a stress reliever right before a huge exam.

Oh and i bombed the exam, but so did the rest of the class.

Don't mean to be a dick, but how can you not tell if your clutch was slipping? Oh well...and as Zabac said about the SR20 turbo, I have the same turbo, and I still have my stock clutch. With 7psi if I'd launch it from a dead stop in 1st, it would grab, but then 2nd, 3rd, and 4th, would slip all over the place. Now I am running 13psi, and I never launch it, ever. I only roll into it. Why still the stock clutch you ask? How about cause I'm a cheap bastard, that's why.

I had the HD clutch. It literally never slipped @ 13 psi no matter if you dumped it or eased it. It was awsome!

Just as an FYI, you might want to check your clutch master and slave to see that they are functioning (not leaking). If they are OK, bleed them.

No i completely understand where you are comming from. I only had about 5 minutes to jump in my car and go for a drive and i just wasnt thinking strait. I was wondering the same thing....... how could it slip in 1st but not 4th??? lol

When my sr20 got oil on the clutch i couldnt hold even 1psi of boost in 4th but it would grab all the way in 1st.

I am way too paranoid when it comes to my cars.
