99 Miata Turbo Build

99 Miata Turbo Build
Well after great year with my car I have decided to go turbo. In this thread I will post my ideas, plans and the progress of my build mainly (but not only) from a performance/engine standpoint.
To begin with, I own (as stated) a 99 nb miata, the car is pretty much stock engine wise and it is in perfect running condition. For the past year I have focus on improving the handling and the looks of the car while preparing it for boost.
This is what I have done so far:
Engine
-Racing Beat header
-Racing Beat axle back exhaust
-Racing Beat race pipe
-Custom intake with Apexi filter
-Ultra ignition wires
-Skunk 2 64mm throttle body
Cooling
-Megan Racing 2-row 52mm aluminium radiator
-Singular Motorsports hood louvers
Drivetrain
-ACT Prolite 9lbs flywheel
Chassis
Hardog rollbar
Body
-Duraflex front bumper
-Rear bumper diffuser
-Sideskirts
Suspension
-Tein Street Flex coilovers
-Racing Beat Front sway bar
-Racing Beat Rear sway bar
-Racing Beat sway bar link
-Racing Beat Front lower arm brace
-Racing Beat Rear lower arm brace
Wheel and Tires
15x9 F1R F05 on 205/50R15 Dunlop Direzzas DZ102
Interior
-Custom shift boot
-Rev Limiter gauge face
-Garage 5 independent gauge ring
-A/c vents chrome rings
-OEM Nardi steering wheel
-Nardi shift ****
-Track dog gauge pod
Other stuff
-Oil pressure gauge
-Wideband
-Powder coated valve cover
-Hawk sport brake pads (the racing ones are great but noisy as hell)
This is my car on its current state
For me the track performance is important but I want my car to be enjoyable and reliable in normal driving conditions, I really want to do this the right way but for now this is what I have got so far for my new setup.
-Borg Warner 6258 EFR Turbo (EWG)
-Megasquirt PNP
-Fab9 manifold
-Fab9 Downpipe
-Turbosmart compgate 40mm wastegate
-Flyin Miata stage 1 clutch
-Deatschwerks 700cc injectors
-Mishimoto Fan shroud
-ATI harmonic damper
-Gauges (boost, oil temp)
-Advanti storm s1 15x9 wheels
-225/45R15 Nitto NT01
Some pictures...
There is some stuff left to buy (intercooler, piping, head stuts, spark plugs, turbo water and oil lines). The plan is to get all the parts by the end of the year that means I will be selling a lot of stuff soon, so keep posted because most of the stuff have really few miles on them!
I may end up fabricating the intercooler piping because I feel that the kits that I have seen are either way to expensive or really low quality so if any of you guys have any piping or intercooler sitting arround I am interested on buying. Obviously I will have to modify the piping for proper fitment but it will take less time than fabricating the whole thing.
I am hoping to get 270+whp out of this setup, later on I am planning on adding water injection to it. I am going to work on the setup this winter and I will also improve other areas of the car (body, interior). For next year the car should be faster, nicer and even more fun! but at the same time it should be nicer to drive. Hopefully I will manage to accomplish just that.
During this winter time I would also like to wrap some interior parts on suede, install the new softop (because some scumbag decided to do a hole on it for no reason) re-spray the front bumper and I may end up getting some other stuff like pedals and nakamae carpet covers, we'll see...
I am open to any kind of suggestions, I am here to learn!

Do you already have a built motor? If not your are not going to have the greatest time.
The EWG EFR housing is .86AR and does not like to spool that great. Sort of gets rid of the whole advantage that the normal EFR has.
ID injectors over DW every day of the week. I have used both DW1000 and ID1000 injectors, the ID are words better.
Which MS do you have? If it is not a MS3 of some sort, return it and buy a MS3.

DW are good injectors too, you should have no issues.
Looking forward to seeing the build progress with lots of pics.
as for intercooler, i am running an ebay intercooler and ebay universal bends kit, which took just 1 day to piece together, and wasnt that hard, and im a noob.
I did have to get rid of the power steering to make room for the piping. although others seem to be able to route around the PS lines.
Fab9 sells a good intercooler if you want an expensive one, otherwise the ebay $90 intercoolers are fine if not pushing too much boost up to 15 ish PSI.

You can get the same intercooler Fab9 sales on amazon for $150 and it is prime eligible. Older DW injectors were not EV14 and sucked *****. I am not sure if they ever updated to EV14 or not, but after my crappy experience I will never give them another shot. My EV14 FF and ID injectors have been amazing in the several different Miata's I have run them in.
The MS3 is far better then the MS2 when controlling things like AC/PS and such. Overall the feature set is better and it is constantly being improved. It would be like going out and buying a PS3 right now when the PS4 is out. Sure the PS3 can play games, but they will be back ports and not as good as what you get with the PS4.

Its all good, fab9 manifold is good. its just the trackspeed manifold is cast so its bullet proof.

First off, there's nothing wrong with your setup or the parts you got so far. It will perform good and make serious power if you want it to. No reason to be sad.
However, if you're really thinking that the stock long block will last on that setup, esp if beat on in a track environment, you're mistaken. Even with low timing that EFR will be pushing the rods to their very limit.
So just adapt and plan to build the engine or start planning for engine build parts too. To sell these balleur parts now and buy a t25 log setup would be insane.
