Default 8.6:1 cold compression test

Just did a test after breaking in my built motor, and this is what I got

Cold 8.6:1 CR test:
Cyl 1: 164
cyl 2: 163
cyl 3: 165
Cyl 4: 167

I gapped the top ring .0050, and bottom .0055.

This is a turbo build and looking around 15-20psi.

Is this fine? I'm not sure if changing the CR changes it much.

If that's not a typo you'll be pulling the engine apart.

You should have 3 to 4 times that amount

Oops I forgot to calculate the rest of it. Using 84mm pistons

Top ring is around 0.0167

bottom ring is around 0.0181

Spartan is right, that is VERY tight ring gap.
Oops *edit* posted on top of you.

Those new gaps are more like it.

Those numbers look fine for a stock camshaft engine.
I believe the numbers you are looking for are .50mm and .55mm which would be .020" and .022" regarding ring gap. They are fine as well.
I would do the comp test hot as well...
Looks fine to me right now

Spartan gave me a mini heart attack . Then realized I didn't calculate the gap lol..

Thanks guys! This build is so far going smooth then!

Yeah I'm assuming with a hot test the psi will be a tad bit higher. But as long as their consistant amd within range I'm happy for now!

last time I did a compression test on my built motor with 8.5:1 I got 175-178 across the board but it has well over 10k miles on it now. Numbers look great especially for a fresh motor on a cold engine.
