Meanwhile cops are kicking in your door in suburbia and shooting your dog.

You do know that Oakland is basically where the worst scum of humanity all condense in one place, right?

Those who have never actually lived in northern California probably can't fully appreciate how totally serious I am when I say this, but Oakland is a festering shithole- the armpit of the US, which would be best served to just be wiped completely off of the map and paved over as parking. They could build a nice Park-n-Ride terminal there for people who live in Walnut Creek and work in SF.

It is NOT representative of all of California, or even of the entire SF Bay area. Oakland is a uniquely horrid pustule in an otherwise moderate and respectable region. I am, frankly, amazed that nobody fired shots at the 5-0 in that video.

I mean, whenever you hear about there being a riot, it always starts in Oakland. That's literally the only thing that people there know how to do.

Police officer shoots a black kid who is drunk, high and assaulting him? Riot.

Same officer is convicted? Riot again.

New Yorkers peacefully protesting and occupying Wall St? Show 'em how it's really done: Riot.

Your football team loses to Tampa Bay? Riot some more.

Some guy all the way down in FL gets acquitted of murder for defending himself? (wait for it....) Yup, it's Riot Time™.

Hell, the one riot that they DIDN'T start back in 1992, they were so pissed off that LA got the jump on them that they rioted in RESPONSE to the riot!

And it's not like they're using their heads about it. I mean, if you were smart, you'd charter a bus and travel to where the rich people live and riot there. But no, the good people of Oakland seem to prefer burning their OWN neighborhoods to the ground.

Ever see the film "Escape from LA?" They were off by a few hundred miles.

And that's the weird thing- it doesn't LOOK all that bad. It's kind of like how Italy is absolutely incredible except for all of the Italians there. You go there, and you think "Hey, this is exactly like Berkeley except with more pawn shops." And then, as you're getting ready to over-pay for a cup of mediocre coffee, there's a little news blurb about how a sick, malnourished kitten was found abandoned under a stoop in a Detroit suburb and nursed back to health by a girl scout, and *BAM*, there's a ******* riot about it.

So I have never been in a riot, but being in one is on my bucket list. Today I learned that Oakland CA is where I can make sure that happens at.

This post also reminded me of this clip from the Boondocks.

Reminds me of an old line about how minorities riot by burning down the neighborhood, while whites riot by moving to the suburbs and voting for budget cuts.

Only Epic Beard Man can save them.

Unfortunately he is batshit crazy and probably can't figure out which fannypack to wear on Teusdays to keep the aliens from reading his thoughts and making him autistic by traveling back in time to give him a routine vaccination.
