Trayvon Martin: What say y'all?
#642
Typical trash piece of **** person putting themselves into the situation by acting like a ******* moron. If it weren't for the stupid **** with his "I'll do what the **** I want" attitude, he wouldn't have been beatdown. But no, he had to create a scene, leave his truck to an already tense scene, then exchange words with Trayvon...then have a gun with no restraint. No one to blame but the ******* himself.
The 3-Ring Circus Media has really skewed, chopped and edited so much of the information around everything it's really no wonder people can't see the bottom line of the whole thing. Not to mention the prosecution having poor judgement in picking the charge(s) they wanted to pursue. "Murder" by definition means Zimmerman was planning, to a degree, to kill. Clearly not the case as there is no indication that Zimmerman ever meant to draw and use his gun (though the fact that he had a gun bring in the speculation element of "did the gun give him a sense of power/protection"?). Even manslaughter would be a tough conviction given the known facts of the situation as it is a "heat of the moment" intent to kill and being the aggressor of the situation resulting in a death.
Clearly it takes a certain kind of mentality to want to step up and watch your community for crime and want to protect it. I know I would like to take a stand against the crap currently going on in my neighborhood, but it's not my personality type. That's we are not all police officers. So I don't think it is really fair to label him as someone "looking to be a hero" or going above and beyond what a concerned citizen should be doing to look out for the community....I have been around those kind of people (who do go too far), and sure as hell do not like that attitude.
Bottom line- It's a crappy situation. The media distorted the story, racist people sensationalized the story to be race-driven to try to convince others of it (those pulling the race card are the most racist of all....looking at you Sharpton & friends), media portrays a specific look/culture of criminals, and "artists" glorify/promote the hood/thug/criminal "look" to look cool. Now place someone in that culture into a gated neighborhood where that "look" is not part of the routine and where crime has been happening, put him in front of a guy who is adamant about taking a stand against what he sees around him...and don't really be surprised that his mentality is to label it suspicious and start taking action. There is nothing wrong with following or asking someone in your neighborhood what they are doing...that shouldn't be on the table...whoever touched the other person first is the ultimate cause for everything that happened....nothing else.

"Mark Levin: If Zimmerman Is Harmed, I Blame Holder, Sharpton And Obama"
Obama and Holder, along with Sharpton and Jackson have done more to set back race relations in this country than any others in my lifetime. I am old and was never a racist, but........

Ladies and Gentlemen, I give you the White African-American President of the U.S.:
Setup: President calls for 'soul-searching' and 'national conversation' -- but warns politicians to butt out...
"Trayvon Martin could have been me 35 years ago" he says...
"I don't want us to lose sight of the fact that things are getting better" he says...
"If Trayvon Martin was of age and he was armed, could he have 'stood his ground' on that sidewalk?" he says...
"If a white male teen was involved in the same kind of scenario, from top to bottom, both the outcome and the aftermath might have been different." he says...
"It doesn't mean we're in a post-racial society or that racism has been eliminated" he says...
yeah, surely he's butting out.
also, he's bringing this back up:
"there is a history of racial disparities in the application of our criminal laws" but that is another story in itself.
and just because:

For blacks, empathy with Obama trumps his economic record - The Hill - covering Congress, Politics, Political Campaigns and Capitol Hill | TheHill.com
For the vast bulk of the African-American political class, the sense of identification and empathy with the nation’s first black president has almost always taken primacy over whatever disappointments they have with his record.

Gingrich: Gangs Have Increased By 40 Percent Since Obama Was Elected | RealClearPolitics
You have a congressman who represents the most violent city in America. You have a congressman who represents the city in which over 500 people were killed last year, 74 percent of them African-American. You have a congressman who represents the city which is 80 percent of the killings, according to police, are by gangs. Gangs have increased -- let me finish. Gangs have increased by 40 percent since this president was elected. There is no federal program to stop it. No one wants to have an honest conversation about it. And so you have a congressman whose own district is bleeding, who puts on a hoodie as a symbolic act, but he doesn't do anything about the gangs in his own district.

"They were saying things like, 'Zimmerman? Is this George? We're going to get you, we're going to kill you,'" she said.
Her cell phone number is only one digit off from Zimmerman's, she said.
Tankel said she received at least 80 phone calls within one day of the jury's not guilty verdict. While the threats died down during the week, she said they ramped right back up again on Friday and continued through the weekend.
"Those phone calls were extremely malicious," she said. "I think at that point, they kind of knew it wasn't George Zimmerman's number, but they were still going to harass me."
