For perspective, they've been doing the "gun violence = public health emergency" bullshit since the early 90s.

Believe it or not but Bloomberg gives very generously to Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health so lots of prestigious scholarly articles have been published on the subject over the past several decades.

But it's basically the research equivalent of astroturfing and I don't think anyone takes it seriously.

Treating gun violence as a public health crisis but ignoring the rest of violence should be evidence enough for anyone to dismiss the idea as laughable.

What do y'all think about SCOTUS agreeing to hear verbal arguments on NY State Rifle & Pistol Association v. Corlett?

NYS has some of the most restrictive laws in the nation, so anything to push back is good. I don't give a damn what they do in New York Schitty, but the whole state suffers because of their failed policies.

It's huge and it means we have a solid pro gun majority.

I personally think they're aiming for a semi-narrow opinion on bearing arms outside the home- ie, they'll establish that there is a right and how far it goes.

I'm more excited about the assault weapons and magazine capacity cases making their way up the circuits right now.

What is the context here? From what I'm getting the Agricultural Commissioner of Florida is responsible for CCL permits?

^That is straight up murder. No way the shooter doesn't catch at least a 2nd-degree murder charge.
