There's a current trend in Hollywood/Schools that everything must be black, female, gay, or a combination of the three. If not, you're a racist bigot. It's a very fitting headline for this thread. You need to stop toying with antennas and seeing what **** they are actually broadcasting.

Unsurprisingly, someone is offended by the political incorrectness of The Shape of Water.
And not because of the fish-sex thing.
The Shape Of Water: The Monster Of White Privilege By Deffinition
On the surface The Shape Of Water shares many similarities with it’s name sake. It’s graceful, fragile and seems tangible. However, upon diving through the initial layer, many will discover that depth lurks within it’s vast and current themes. Avoiding the fact I’ve just managed to fit in four water pun there, this movie should be applauded and taken seriously for the severity of it’s thematic choices.
The most noticeable being White Privilege.

TL;DR: the author claims that the movie is a metaphor for everything from black slavery in the US to discrimination against pickle-kissers in the modern day.

With the premiere of Batwoman just a few days away, fans of the popular superhero are pretty excited to begin watching the series. Lead actress Ruby Rose, however, is already assuming that a large demographic of those people won’t enjoy her new show.
According to her, this isn’t really a series for “white old men,” saying the following in a recent interview:

According to her, this isn’t really a series for “white old men,” saying the following in a recent interview:
“Some people will love the show, some people might be surprised and find that they really enjoy it, and some people might not see themselves on the screen and therefore not see the point. But there’s obviously plenty of shows for people like that. There’s plenty of shows for white old men.”
There are certain parts of that quote that are definitely true, as it’s hard to deny that there are many shows out there that exist mostly to entertain white men. At the same time, though, it does feel counterproductive to throw shade at a group of people who make up a large portion of Gotham City’s fanbase.
