Braineack is creatively interpreting CDC statistics, to mean that for any death in which COVID-19 was not the sole cause of death, COVID-19 was not the cause of death.
Kind of like how, if a person who is taking blood-thinning medication is gored by a bison, and subsequently bleeds to death, the bison was not the cause of death, because a person who was not using blood-thinning medication might have survived the goring.
Frankly, I think it's reasonable to require everyone to wear a suit of armor when in public if they are not able to maintain a distance of at least six feet from bison, because armor is somewhat effective at protecting against bison attacks, regardless of whether or not you take blood-thinners.

Careful being too dramatic or your liberalism will show your bias. Even I can't guess at your motives. Look at the details for Swine Flu and the Bird Flu. No false positives. No omission of co-morbidity.

Me = liberal?
Dude...
The only thing "liberal" about me is that I don't believe that government should be used as a tool to impose religion upon the citizens. In that sense, yes, I do strongly disagree with many elements of mainstream conservative politics in 21'st century America.

Who said anything about panic being justified? I'm pretty sure I'm mocking the normalization of panic.
If you thought I was being serious about recommending that people wear medieval armor at all times to protect themselves against the threat of bison attack, then we should probably speak privately about that.

As a card-carrying member of the actual media (licensed, call-sign broadcasters, that is), I'm never quite comfortable referring to Huffington Post and Breitbart as "the media," nor acknowledging assertions of same on the part of others. That being said, I'm not a Luddite, and I recognize that the meaning of words changes over time.
Plenty of left-leaning opinion outlets are reporting on the survivor story of an obese senior citizen (President Trump), in the context of bemoaning the fact that he has access to healthcare options which are unavailable to the high school dropouts and liberal-arts majors who make up a large portion of their readership.
About a month ago, I spent a week roaming around North and South Dakota. During that time, I came into close proximity with a large number of bison. I was not gored by any of them, despite the fact that I was not wearing medieval armor.
I attribute this mostly to the fact that I did not try to convince any of them that gender is a fictitious concept, that all democrats are paedophiles, or that children have a right to be recognized as legitimate sex-workers.
Also, a potatophone picture of a prarie dog, because they're just so goddamn adorable.
They make a sound which is about 2/3 guinea pig and 1/3 parakeet. There were hundreds of them in this particular area. None of them assaulted me, or tried to convince others that they were entitled to a fair share of my earnings.

*snip*
Nice pics. Similar happened to my ex-wife and I in Yellowstone. We were unable to move the car for ~45 minutes, finally a few park rangers came out and were able to clear one lane and let the traffic start taking turns getting by.
Also, and I'm being completely serious here:

I was stationed at Ellsworth AFB many moons ago, and I rediscovered my love for stargazing due to the availability of really dark skies. I had an '85 4Runner at the time. I loaded up my Celestron Comet Catcher, tripod, a few beers, star charts, my S&W Model 10, and headed for Wind Cave National Park, SD late one evening. Highway 385 runs through the park, so it is never really closed. I pulled into one of the parking areas right off the road and set up the telescope. The sky was beautiful. I was really enjoying myself when I heard a snorting sound and saw these two giant, golden eyes coming towards me out of the blackness. I threw the telescope still on the tripod into the back of the truck, jumped in, and pulled the tailgate closed. The bison was just curious. It never got aggressive, but still scared the **** outta me. I'm glad I didn't shoot at it. I headed home.
About halfway home the moon started to rise. It was gynormous on the horizon and there wasn't a cloud in the sky. I decided to spend a few minutes 'scoping the moon. Besides, I actually needed to put the telescope in its box and check if I had soiled myself. I pulled over onto a narrow shoulder next to a barbed wire fence. I couldn't have been there two minutes when I heard the sound of galloping hooves coming towards me. I'm frantically reaching for my .38 when this huge horse's head comes over the barbed wire and gets within a foot or so of my face. He snorted once and then just stood there, I'm sure laughing at me in his own special way.
I didn't go back into the parks late at night after that.
I'm pretty sure I'm mocking the normalization of panic.
The sun must have been in my eyes. Back to regular programming.

No kidding! I just got back from Yellowstone and I cannot believe I've been lied to all of my life. There are no buffalo in North America; just bison. they do make pretty cool noises though.
