Originally, I tried taking the red pill, but it made me sleepy. Then I tried the blue pill, which was nice, but it wore off after four hours.
Then I had some good pork and a Mojito, and I thought "Wait a minute, what if I try understanding things in the proper context, distinguishing between things which are true and false, and formulating original thoughts and ideas?"
Crazy, I know...
Part of me wants to just post a bunch of image memes which support my narrative. The problem is that I don't really have a narrative to push other than calling out BS. So I'll just settle for making fun of everyone equally.
Like this:
Democrats and Republicans: the parties of basically not having a clue!
CBS: The channel of using valuable airtime during a news program to make fun of a host on Fox news who posted a gross-looking photo of a pot of chili in Twitter:
FOX: The channel of using valuable airtime during a news program to defend yourself from criticisms concerning the bowl of chili you made:
Herring is among those who have called on Northam to resign after the discovery of a photo of someone in blackface and another in a KKK costume on his 1984 medical school yearbook page.
"It is no longer possible for Governor Northam to lead our Commonwealth and it is time for him to step down," Herring said over the weekend.
Herring jumped on Northam's **** because he saw his chance to move up in the ladder. My guess is that there are pictures of Herring floating around and he's trying to get ahead of the hurricane, which is impossible at this point. There is an entire cast of Democrats out there foaming at the ******* mouth because Northam and Herring were two of the front-runners for the White-House in '24/'28... and they all see this as their chance now.

I don't post in the gourmet food thread for this reason. And i cook almost every night (except for when i'm out of town).
Some of the best things i've made looked absolutely horrible.
Even the worst thing i've ever made was better than whatever this was i got on a salad.
Basically, if you ever plan to be a public figure of any kind, it's important not to do, say, or write anything at all which might be considered offensive 40 years later by a different set of societal expectations.
I've made the observation before: it's going to get really interesting when people who grew up with Twitbook and Pinstagram from a young age start running for public office in a couple of decades.

Honestly, Cuban-style black beans aren't very photogenic. It actually kind of looks like loose diarrhea, after you've taken a lot of Pepto Bismol. (I don't know about you, but Pepto turns my poop black.) Still, it was yummy.
That is a small part of something which used to be a carrot. And it probably had dreams and ambitions which did not involve winding up as a thin sliver of dehydrated awfulness.
This is what happens when you elect socialists to Congress and a clown to the White House. You wind up living in a reality in which calling something that looks like a scab which fell off of orange man's buttocks a "carrot" is totally normalized.
How is it wrong? It's a metaphor. Wanna know what's really neat about metaphors? they are symbolic. You don't think Democrats in the US would love to pass anti-speech laws like the ones in the UK are doing if they could?
One congresswoman occupying another congresswoman's office, along with a bunch of kids, and promise not to stop harrassing her until she agrees to sign one of the largest debt-creating socialist-work programs ever proposed (which is extortion.)
We have the US government saying that it's going to start invalidating the otherwise valid patents of pharmaceutical companies unless they agree to sell their products to Medicare at below-market prices (which is also extortion, and probably also restraint of trade.)
As if he wasn't already in enough **** due to the whole "I was sleeping with a Russian spy and feeding her information" thing, poor ole' longtime GOP campaign manager and political consultant Paul Erickson just got himself incited on 11 counts of money-laundering and fraud. And not the vague, "no victim, no crime" kind. Seems that over the period of 1996 - 2018 (you know, while he was already earning millions from the republican party), Erickson made a hobby out of actively defrauding individuals of millions of dollars by convincing them to invest in fictitious businesses enterprises.
I honestly didn't think anyone was dumb enough to attempt Ponzi schemes any more. Turns out I was wrong.
Most politically connected people don't do any time. They usually pay a small portion back of what they stole.
Yeah, one of the articles notes:
The maximum penalty upon conviction is up to 20 years in federal prison for each count, a $250,000 fine for wire fraud, a $500,000 fine for money laundering, three years of supervised release, and up to $1,100 to the Federal Crime Victims Fund. Restitution may also be ordered.
Now, obviously the 20 years thing ain't happening. What struck me as absurd was how small the maximum potential fines were as compared to the amount stolen, and that $1,100 donation to the Federal Crime Victims Fund.
$1,100? Why even bother? $1,100 is actually worse than nothing, as it's insulting.
Overall point of the post was this: It really doesn't matter whether someone is a Republican or a Democrat. Members of both parties seem to enjoy committing major felonies equally.

The victims can recover more funds in civil court. That's how this works. If the government takes it all then there is nothing to recover.
