Illinoisans Fleeing State by Tens of Thousands over Taxes and Financial Loss
Illinoisans Fleeing State by Tens of Thousands over Taxes and Financial Loss
According to reports, Illinois alone lost 33,703 citizens to outward migration last year. In 2016, the state lost another 37,508 people. A report by the Chicago Tribune also noted that Chicago has been a net loser of its citizens for the last three years running. And the surrounding county was also a net loser of its population.
Indeed, Chicago is unique in the U.S. for being the only major city that has consistently lost citizens over the last five years. The Tribune’s editorial board even published an editorial saying that it no longer makes any sense to live in Illinois.
Because so many citizens are leaving, Illinois dropped from fifth-largest state to number six in 2017, the Tribune reported last year.
One Chicago couple who moved to Tennessee told WGN that the move gave them back an amazing 25 percent of their income that would no longer be lost to property taxes and other expenses associated with living in the deep blue state of Illinois.

Joe Perez says:

But on the same platform, an individual can't block other people from publishing content the individual doesn't agree with, because bound-by-constitution.

The whole state of Illinois lost 37,500 people last year and just the Tampa Bay Area gained 58,000 last year. No state income tax, low property taxes, low cost of housing, but you do have to shovel sunshine out of your driveway every winter day.

There are very few unions down here other than the National Communist Education Association and the Jimmy Hoffa Memorial Teamsters Union for the UPS workers and such. We aren't bringing much manufacturing to Florida. We are getting Tech, management, and accounting jobs s corporations move their offices here for the tax benefits and lower labor costs. Desk jockeys don't unionize unless they work for the government. This is part of the reason our governor has canned a bunch of state workers and contacted out much of the work for savings of millions. We have one of the best Financial ratings of any state in the Union currently. But yes, we expect the Yankees to suck all this up eventually and I'll have to go somewhere else.

Which is the reason I left FL in 1999 and moved to a place with, you know, jobs and industry.

If you also believe that "freedom of the press" is limited to ink applied to paper with movable-type screw presses, and that "papers," as described in the fourth amendment, does not include digital media, then I'll grant you the muskets clause.
I saw one of the "incriminating" interviews with Morgan Freeman and viewed it as charming flirtation between a guy that knew he was far too old and a young female interviewer.
If I hadn't seen it in the context of her saying that she felt uncomfortable I wouldn't have thought anything more of it.
Solution: Never give interviews to a woman under 30!
These days it seems you can't even compliment a woman without it being interpreted inappropriately so you say nothing and then they get annoyed because you haven't noticed how good they look if they've put some effort into it.
