I'm a Lib...
It's absolutely true. I would have once called myself a Republican. And then a Conservative. Now, with the size and intrusiveness of the government, I find myself more and more siding with the Libs (Libertarians)...

The problem with that is that it ensures that democrats always win elections.
because libertarians are stupid and will vote for gary johnson for pres, not against obama.
VA is still a blue state because of all the libertarians that voted in the election two weeks ago.

I use to feel this way as recently as the last presidential election. Then I realized that it is really the fault of the Republican party. I don't want democrats to win every election either but I'm not going to vote for the republican anymore just because I see him as the lesser of two evils. If Republicans lose enough elections because of a split vote maybe we will start seeing some better candidates.

Agreed--I wouldn't vote for a Libertarian over a Republican simply because of a label. No matter who is in office, the rules need to change, starting with term limits.

Obamacare....for your cell phone.
Can anyone tell me how a librarian has taken away my right to use the phone I purchased in any way I want? Obama is why.

Florida city uproots couple
A new zoning ordinance designed to “protect the distinctive character of the Miami Shores Village,” was enacted and specifically prohibited vegetables – not fruit, trees or even plastic flamingos – from appearing in front yards.
Shortly after, the couple received a visit from their local code enforcement officer. They were given two choices: Uproot the garden or pay a $50 per day fine to keep it.
After twice appearing before the Miami Shores Code Enforcement Board and being denied an exemption, the couple decided to dig up the garden rather than fork over $1,500 a month to the city.

God I love quoting Obama:
...If the majority chooses to end the filibuster...and put an end to democratic debate, then the fighting and bitterness and gridlock will only get worse.

Obama has nothing to do with it.
But I agree with the basic question, why does she/he have that authority? I guess it has something to do with intellectual property.

For what it's worth, I have voted Republican for most of my life as I tended to side with the fiscal values of the party.
Recently, over the past 8-10 years, the platform of the party has moved into the social realm whereby someone with a lot of money seems hell bent on telling me what my personal values should be and what my wife or daughter's personal values should be. While I may agree with them in principle I do not believe that any of our political parties - and in essence our government, deserve to have that much sway over it's populace. And so, I will continue to vote the other side because neither side, from the fiscal point of view, is that far apart.
So, if the Republican party wants to win elections it will figure out that it needs to give the wackos the boot and tell them to form their own party.
Yup, it'll mean no national elections for a few years but sooner or later the party would capture the middle again and gain power back.

I agree with that. I keep telling people, there won't be a R in office for a very long time.
Someone was trying to tell me she thinks Christie will win next election and I rofled.
