Some people hate Trump so much that they don't care who the alternative is. There are enough of those people to matter. For the sake of my convenience, I don't want to believe it's any more complicated than that.

They would have "a margarita or two" with a steaming pile of **** so long as the pile looks incredible and can dance.

We're watching a movie.

I'm voting for Trump because I like that he's good at golf and has a great tan for his age. He looks like the kind of person you'd like to bang a stripper or two with.

Now that the media pushed out Joe, they have to fix the past.

Axios is throwing itself under the bus, amending a 3yr old article to fit today's narrative. Wild.

They need this next steal to be believable.

I still laugh at the "fat free" yogurt episode.

That is literally, 100% correct. It's one of those rare instances when something actually is as simple as it seems.

One of the left-leaning publications which I subscribe to is the radio show / podcast This American Life. They are usually not very political, preferring instead to pick some random, semi-obscure topic and then spend an hour doing a fascinating deep-dive into it. But these days, everything is political, and like every other socialist with a microphone, they're going down that path.

Today, I listened to episode 821, entitled "Embrace the Suck." I'd highly encourage everyone here to listen to at least Act One, entitled "Haley Mary Pass." You can skip the Prologue. https://www.thisamericanlife.org/821/embrace-the-suck

Now, bear in mind that this episode aired back in January, before it was clear that Trump was obviously going to be the Republican nominee. In this 22 minute long chapter, the show follows two young men who are DC & NY based Think Tank / Super-PAC types. They're the sort of person who, the instant you hear them speak, you just know that they say "Hi, my name is (X), my pronouns are (Y / Z)" when introducing themselves.

But, unlike you and I, they are actually out there influencing the 2024 election in the real world, rather than just talking about it on a Miata-themed cat forum.

In their spare time, they were, at the time, traveling to states with primaries which are both open and also fairly early on the calendar, trying to convince undeclared voters to vote in the Republican primary. Not for the candidate who they actually hope will become president, but for the only Republican candidate who, in their opinion, stands a chance of defeating Trump in the primary and thus advancing to the general election to face (and hopefully lose to) Biden.

And they're completely open and honest about that as they speak to undeclared voters. Their pitch is that "No sane person wants Trump to win. The best way to prevent that, no matter how unpleasant it may seem, no matter how much you might disagree with their views on reproductive freedom and LGBTQ rights and Climate Change, is to vote for the only Republican who stands a real chance at keeping Trump off the ballot in November."

That's literally it. There is only one single issue actually on the minds of the far-left right now, and it is, quite simply, "Not Trump."

Same reason, incidentally, why I'm registered as a democrat. I live in Chicago, so it's a foregone conclusion that a democrat is going to win. This way, I at least get to have a say in choosing which democrat that is.

Bonus: The word "defenestrate" is used in this episode, in a serious context. (It's in Act 3.)
