Same same, but with a Biden win and the NY judge who gave unprecedented jury instructions to get a conviction he knows won't stand. Judges are just lawyers with political goals. Never forget that.
Yup, that too.
The fact that Supreme Court* justices are appointed by the executive has always bothered me a bit. But I'll admit that I can't think of a better system, if you discount pulling swords out of rocks and divine ordinance.
(* EDIT: To clarify, I mean US Supreme Court. The fact that New York refers to its lowest-level trial courts as "Supreme Courts" is a misnomer in this instance.)

I'm well aware that she's a Trump appointee. She's acting in a way which suggests that she is afraid to upset her former sponsor, which makes sense as it's looking like a 50 / 50 shot at this point that he'll be back in the White House by this time next year.
Listen. Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government. Supreme executive power derives from a mandate from the masses, not from some farcical aquatic ceremony. You can't expect to wield supreme executive power just 'cause some watery tart threw a sword at you! I mean, if I went around saying I was an emperor just because some moistened bint had lobbed a scimitar at me, they'd put me away!
To think, just 3 years ago this laptop was Russian disinformation and those who spoke about it like it really existed were nutjob, right-wing conspiracy theorists.

I'm burn out on this election and all of the lawfare. Nov 5th can't come too soon.
Although I wonder what the real reason is that dems are going such lengths to win. It's not for the publicized reasons. It's got to be self-preservation of the current state of the fbi and/or maybe there was not only some shenanigans with the 20 election, but there is some proof to be had from an investigation.
The Dems aren't really doing that much to win. Joe's not flying around the country making speeches, and you don't see a lot of political ads for him...not like Trump. You certainly don't see any Biden bumper stickers.
It's as if they have an alternate plan to get to the White House...
It seems like the world's problems can really be hung on one group of people: Leftists. Crazy that this happens and ppl continue to vote blue. I have to assume they approve and condone.

also, the physical laptop was presented as evidence in the gun trial. do you finally believe it?
You keep erecting that same strawman over and over again.
I don't recall very many people, myself included, denying that a laptop computer and external hard drive owned by Hunter Biden was abandoned in a repair shop in Delaware.
Maybe Joe Biden did, I don't recall his exact words.
The problem with Government Exhibit 16 at this point is that the chain-of-custody on it is murkier than Publix sweet tea. So many different people have touched that machine, behind closed doors with no no accountability, that I wouldn't be a bit surprised to find that Sam Bankman-Fried's missing bitcoin wallet is on it by this point. Hell, a semi-competent Vegas stage magician could have already swapped it out for one containing nothing but My Little Pony fan-fiction and photoshopped nudes of Sandra Fluke in bed with Rush Limbaugh.

Absolutely! I think someone forced Hunter to buy and smoke all that crack and then **** all those hookers on film while sharing that crack with them and then they PLANTED the video and audio on this laptop in a weak attempt to sully the good name of one of the most honest and respected presidential families this great country has ever known.
Honestly, I bet this same mysterious son of a bitch wrote that disgusting **** in Ashley's diary about her showing with President Biden before leaking it to the media.
I just hope they catch him, whoever it was. DISGUSTING.
My first thought when all that **** started was Hunter wanted the laptop to be found and its contents made public, to stop his father from becoming president. Then, Ashley Biden's diary was "found" and parts of it leaked a month before the 2020 election. Coincidence?
The desire to be the first to break a story goes back a long way in American journalism.
It's not something they teach in J-school, obviously. Those profs still believe in high-minded ideals like integrity and honesty. They come from the generation in which reporters went to jail for refusing to give up the name of confidential sources.
No, much like selling pink-sheet stocks to idiots, learning to value being the first to break a story is something you learn in the trenches.
It mentions, in part, how the Washington Post agreed, under pressure from the White House, to bury a story relevant to the Watergate investigation. Ultimately, WaPo got scooped by a young NYT reporter who had no such sense of patriotic loyalty, and within our own community, it's generally believed that Nixon would likely have gotten away with it were it not for Seymour Hersh bucking the establishment and forcing everyone else to re-calibrate their perceptions.
Put more simply: The Post agreed to be complicit with the White House in covering up part of the Watergate hush-money story.
But a young reporter for the NYT decided that being the first to break that story would supercharge his career.
Not only was he right, but he also shamed the more senior members of the press establishment into focusing on the truth, rather than pandering to the white house.
